LOTRO free to play going ahead.

They do seem pretty on the ball with name changes...which is a good thing I guess :p

I'm level 30 on my burglar now. Kind of bored though, and have some freelance work I have to do in the evenings for the next week or so. Where's a good place to go at 30?

Through the 30s you'll be wanting a variety of Esteldin area, Evendim and early Trollshaws.

Been reading up and it looks like I was right, as MoM standard expansion doesnt come with 30 days free you dont get VIP status for a month, it does however raise you to Premium of course. There is a MoM deluxe (or collectors) edition which does come with 30 days free, which will give you VIP status for 1 month though. So anyone buying the MoM expansion at retail, make sure which version you are buying. (as mentioned earlier , whichever one you get the account will be Premium at the end of the month rather than VIP of course)

Well tell whoever you read that from that they're WRONG!! I brought a BOXED version of the STANDARD MoM last week, and I have VIP until New Years Eve.

Is that due to the MoM or due to people being given 1 month of VIP til the end of December due to them having to sort out the accounts, which also started last week?

The person I read it from was the Codemasters Community Rep on the official forums. They could be wrong though I suppose :)

Did you have a paid for version of SoA first?

I think how it works is:

F2P + MoM = no VIP
Purchased SoA = 30 days VIP
Purchased SoA + purchased MoM = another 30 days VIP

or due to people being given 1 month of VIP til the end of December due to them having to sort out the accounts, which also started last week?

About this. My account got the VIP, my gf's didn't. Where is the thread detailing how it works?

There were a few threads about it on the official forums, though none really explained precisely why one person might get it and another not. I think the account creation date had something to do with it though.

I did set up 3 weeks before her, doh!

Ah well, I will make better use of my extra traits slots any way.

anyone else find the lonelands extremely boring? i was loving my character up til now, but the quests here are so much more uninteresting and the landscape is so dull, The north downs better? Im level 25atm but i take it theres no quest pack for north downs?

Im thinking about leveling up another character too, something different from the usual swords/hack and slash with my champ, was thinking burgular/captain/minstrel maybe.

Have they changed exp reqs for levels at all? Going from 50-54 took me absolutely ages yet in about 3 days I've managed to ding 55 and am close to 56 (probably ding tonight). I'm not complaining, just curious!

Really? I loved the Lone Lands. The Epic questline there is pretty good and you've got 4 different areas that help to provide a bit of contrast. If you can, go exploring and group with some people to really feel the benefits of it. Going and taking out trolls in the swamp is quite fun at low levels.

As is the new mini-dungeon they put in when they revamped the zone a few months back. It's easy to miss, but there's an entrance in ost cyrin and to the right of the road as you head towards ost guruth.

Didn't know about that. Think my Warden may take a visit there when he reaches mid 20's.

Always quite liked Lone Lands myself, the stunning weathertop, the little mini dungeon, the trolls and undead in the swamp.

Should be a quest pack for North Downs too, though I actually prefer LL over North Downs myself.

ah i was talking about the forsaken inn quests, now ive found more over by the marsh areas, much more fun :) Wheres this mini dungeon?

Once you're past Weathertop, heading east along the road, there's a big outcropping of rock on your right at one point, with a couple of dwarves standing around outside a tiny door, that's it. The ruins at Ost Cyrin also have an entrance to it on their western side, although this kind of dumps you at the wrong end of the dungeon.

having a break from my main, its gonna be a few days until i can sub, i already got the lonelands quest pack, im gonna try leveling a minstrel, so far its quite fun, esp killing enemys with a banging guitar track :p But i would have thought questing in areas like the barrows would be quite hard for a minstrel solo.
