January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Doesn't change the fact that you're still the favourites. Doesn't matter how much Chelsea spend and on who, still new players fitting into a new team. Of course they're better off, but so much that they're suddenly favourites again whilst points behind you in 4th? No chance.
I think Shami has a point, but I'd really have to see how Spartak Chelski (really liked that one haha, saw it on here a few days ago) gel and play in the first few games following the window. Torres or whoever won't help a squad that's still falling apart.

As mentioned, if Carroll didn't put in an official transfer request then Newcastle would have had to pay him more money if he was booted out the door.

Yeah but if Carroll himself didnt want to go and had to be pushed into it by Ashley then surely Carroll would have wanted Newcastle to pay him more and so wouldnt have put in the request??

Its a funny thing, when Alonso left and when Mascherano left , both times I felt the team was going to be worse for it. This time though, I am undecided, part of me actually thinks we will be better off this time. Guess I will have to wait and see how things are going after a few games.

Its called having a manager who's vision we believe in, and trust.

Pretty much all "locally" owned then by the looks of it. Thanks.

No problem, i had a look round for moscow and couldnt find anything. My google fu is weak :(

The domestic/foreign player prices, laws regarding working permits, ownership/spending laws, and turnover of each league obviously varies wildly making a direct comparison tricky.

6 players out on loan this window haven't we? Bought Dzeko in. 6 out doesn't include Johnson lost to injury, Micah, Balo. That's quite a difference.

Sounds like we should be recalling some loans at very least, it's looking very thin on the ground.
The only players worth recalling dont have clauses to do so i dont think. Bellamy is a sealed one, Weiss would have been perfect but he has paid 50%+ games for Rangers so isn't coming back.
Having:
Hart+Given
Kolarov,Toure,Kompany,Boyata,Lescott,Boateng,Richards (injured?)
Toure,Viera,Barry,Milner,SWP,Silva and De Jong
Dzeko,Tevez (injured?) and Balotelli (definite injury)
Is 19 players. 20 if a massive injury crisis occurs and Jo needs to play :(

Considering where the richest team in the world our team is very thin and god forbid Silva gets injured that could be our season :/

They come into play this summer. It explains the reason why clubs are spending so heavily this window.

Yes and no, the monitoring will seemingly start next season but you're allowed to have operating loss of 45mil in the 13/14 and 14/15, the three years after that you can have 30mil losses, in euros.

Its not a massive deal I don't think, if you sign this window or the next, because I think all the fee's are amortized over the length of contract for the sake of profit/loss. So a 50mil fee now will add the same to this years profit/loss as in 13/14 if its a decent contract.

I think the big fee's are quite simply as one club is doing particularly badly and needs fresh blood(Chelsea) and another was taken over after the last transfer window so this window was always going to be fairly active for them, though it looks like Pool had a lot more targets in mind that we thought and won't get them.

hearing Liverpool have also bid for Richards, then theres Young, Adam's, Carroll, Suarez, of which likely only Carroll is due to Torres leaving.

This just proves that English clubs are just mad & stupid with paying transfer fee's

Biggest deal in:
Spain: Elias from Corinthians to Atletico, £6m;
Germany: Luiz Gastavo from Hoffenheim to Bayern, £12m;
Italy: Pazzini from Sampdoria to Internazionale, £11m plus a player;
France: Rod Fanni from Rennes to Marseille, £3.25m plus a few childish sniggers;
Russia: Ibricic (from Hajduk to Lokomotiv Moscow, £4.2m;
Turkey: Bogdan Stancu from Steaua to Galatasaray, £4.75m

Every clubs at a different stage though, compare England to Spain/Italy's biggest fee's in the last couple years and you'd see a 60-65mil euro Ibrahimovich, 80mil Ronaldo, 70mil Kaka(or was it 60), 30mil benzema/Alonso, 35mil Villa, etc, etc.

Maybe not entirely tosh on the image rights thing, Baz:

BBC sports news correspondent Dan Roan on Twitter: "Reliably informed that talks on image rights and salary (approx 175k/week) are all that remains forTorres deal to be completed."

Well at least we were sensible in getting Dzeko sealed up early, and already have 1 assist and 1 goal out of him since he arrived. Can't grumble!

But yeah, considering the teams around us, I definitely thought with the Adam Johnson/Balo injury we would be looking for a winger, and probably another creative midfielder. Maybe some kids in the EDS are ready and are going to get one helluva promotion in the next few days. Still have full faith in the owners though :) Let's just wait and see!
