Hazard please, along with a new back line to accommodate Vermaelen. If wenger is going to buy no big players (this is very likely), at least bring in a good defensive coach to sort out our team.

Hopefully that will quieten all the stirrers.

Not if his contract includes a clause allowing him to leave if you don't make the CL ;)
Surely you can only pull something like that if the deal is pretty much in the bag?
Maybe the player we were in for in January?

He wouldn't be the first player to be tapped up so publicly but you would have to imagine Utd have got some sort of permission from Shakhtar. Who knows, maybe you reached an agreement with Shakhtar in Janurary but for the transfer to go through in the summer.

It still seems a bit odd though. I can't imagine either Utd or Shakhtar would want all the speculation that this is going to cause and I've just had a quick check; Shakhtar have a game tomorrow and their star player is sitting in Manchester

You'd have thought if any meeting needed to happen it could have been done behind closed doors.

Man united should get Maarten Stekelenburg is a very good buy and he is just like van the sar. He had a very good world cup last year and would go around £15million the most. He got only 1year left on his contract.

No doubt Reina will leave. Worse than Owen and Torres leaving put together that'll be =[.

Tbh it really didnt bother me in the slightest when Owen left, he was never a Fowler or a Rush in my eyes. Torres I didnt mind leaving either (though I was rather annoyed at the timing of his departure). Would be really sorry to see Reina go though, because I just dont think there are too many top keepers available to replace him with.

I reckon the only chance we have of keeping hold of him is to finish 5th and at least offer him some form of european competition next year. Its a long shot, but still achievable, Spurs are 7 ahead at the moment, beat Sunderland tomorrow and thats 4 ahead and we still have to play spurs yet, so win that and we are 1 pt behind them (with Spurs still to play Man City away, Arsenal and Chelsea away on the run in). On top of that I really think spurs are wobbling in the league and could see us catching them if, IF, we can go on a run over the next several games.

I would love it if Man City and/or Chelsea were knocked out of the top 4, I just dont think form of either club just below is there to do it

Spurs had a massive chance to put pressure on yesterday (particularly) and fluffed their lines (badly imo), personally think Sunderland will win against Liverpool, but who knows.

Spurs are wobbling in collecting points but we're playing well and creating lots of chances. Some of the chances Defoe missed against the Pikies and Blackpool were shocking. Some one is going to get a good hiding very soon I think. If we keep playing well the goals will come.

2 out of 9 is more than a wobble (if MOTD stat was correct) :D

That was either Young or Rodwell.

Young, Rodwell and Costa in the summer would be absolutely awesome business.

I would be a little concerned about centre midfield experience if that combination of players was bought

Rodwell's versatility would be a bonus, and Cleverly coming back from Wigan would be a good addition, but I would still prefer someone in their early - mid 20's, I thougth of De Rossi - but even he is getting right on the age verge of what Utd would buy @28 before he played a game for us), the youthful flair of Costa looks good, but you never know how that will fair in the harsh british winters lol

De Rossi isnt a Fergie signing, good and all as he is.

I cant think of a player since he was burned by Veron that he has bought for top money without PL experience and in his prime.

I think if Costa has played in Russia he can probably handle the temps in Manchester!!!

Aside from VDS the midfield is the only area that needs work and the three guys strongly linked would completely overhaul that area. Add in Valencia and Fletcher and have Giggs and Scholes in the background for one more year and thats the makings of another great side IMO. I wouldnt be surprised to see these guys come in and Nani get punted.
