I hope Berbatov doesn't leave, I'd very much like to see him being played 'properly' :(

Who knows whether he'll leave but if he's not been played properly until now, the signing of Young and the emergence of Hernandez will make it less likely of it happening now.

i want berba to leave, not because i dont like him,but because he could do so much better at a diffrent club, the 2nd half of last season he was treated like crap.

I reckon Valencia may be used like we use Park i.e. in the big games to give us some defensive stability. For the lesser games though all out attack I hope with Nani and Young on the wings and Rooney and Hernandez up front.

As much as I liked the idea of Young and Nani I dont like the idea of Young replacing Nani, the latter is a much better player IMO.

Ashley Young is a far more complete player than Nani, he'll flourish at OT, but might initially find it hard not to be the billy-big-boots he fancied himself at Villa. You'll note there's no furore from the Villa fans following his departure as there was with Barry and Milner - many are glad to see him go.

Marc Albrighton: Step forward.

He is undoubtedly, and in a few months time, when you've embraced him as a Utd player and a winger who doesn't put his crosses into the Stretford End, you'll agree.

21 assists last season and 10 goals (all from open play no free kicks of penalties here) says otherwise

Playing for the Champions, a side who scored 30 more than Villa, with better players surrounding him, making and creating more opportunities themselves.

Not really a fair compromise or realistic comparison......

.....unless you're so blinded by statistics that you'd want me to state that DJ Campbell scored more than Rooney, Drogba or Torres last season and subsequently is a better player....?

For information - Nani scored only 2 more than Young and assisted 7 more times.....hardly mesmeric

Yet you chose to state that Young is better than Nani?

None were from twelve yards though

I'll admit that Young's ability at set pieces will be an improvement though.

I am pretty excited about Young, had to watch a lot of Villa this year because of my housemate and he's absolute class. Can play competently on the left as well which is helpful considering for some reason at the moment if we put Nani out there he degenerates about 2 years and is woeful.

*Ahem*Berbatov*Ahem*

He's won trophies and titles at United and you hate him

Because he as well as those things he lazy, and not very good.
If he was good, he can do what he likes as far as I care.

Costing us 2 FA cup semi finals, not scoring a goal for 2 years in the champions league and generally not being great for two and a half of the three years he has been with us kind of counts against him.

Yes, in my opinion he is a better player, you can't compare statistically and hold that as the basis for your arguement.

Review your comments at the end of the season.

I'm basing my argument on what I've seen from Nani since the Hull game last year, unfortunately I cant find the exact goals/assists stat from then until now. The stats of which are just there to underline his productivity which you questioned.

If come the end of next season Young has matched Nani in terms of assists and goals then great, right now though my opinion is that Nani is the better player.

On the other hand he played a massive part in winning us titles in 2009 and in 2011 :)

£50m on 3 players so far.. Da Gea isn't a done deal but should be soon.

Wouldn't mind seeing Parker at United. Please don't tell me we are going for Kaka? Read on Eurosport. As good as he is, I just don't see him fitting in at MU. His injuries are a worry at the moment. He did nothing last season because of them.

To be fair I think a lot of the reason theres less of an issue with Young leaving is, it was always inevitable and frankly he is really more than good enough to play in the top teams.

With Milner and Barry you had players joining for a club that at the time weren't any better, were joining for the money alone, and were players that frankly should have been pretty lucky to play for a club as good as Villa were. Its like Denilson saying, sorry Arsenal, I want to go somewhere to win things. Henry tells us that, its fine, good luck, same with Fabregas, Denilson, Diaby types tell you that, you want to figure out a way to get away with murder :p

People really like to dislike Young, no idea why, yet considering how much absolute and ridiculous love this country has for certain England players, Young has assisted or scored the vast majority(I keep forgetting, I think its now 7 out of the last 9) goals England have scored, and him coming on massively changed how good England looked. He's basically Englands best player by a country mile right now, if that was Rooney, Theo(how, I have no idea), Milner, people would be raving about how brilliant he really is, with Young its..... meh.
