I'm getting a bit impatient for news but I still have faith that he has a plan,

This. Step away from the media rubbish and breath. The Transfer Window has been open a whole 8 days. Sky Sports understands there are 54 days left! Wasn't Nasri suppose to have already signed for both Man Utd/City, had medicals etc, when in reality Arsenal say there hasn't been a formal offer. heck they even claim now he's about to sign a new deal. Also Cesc was going on strike, It's all made up misquoted rubbish.

Yes, lets not cover our heads in the sand, but it's not as bad as people make out, the whole squad is leaving etc. We need to buy 3 or 4 players, A LB/CB and then a couple of midfielders.

Also, stolen from Twitter, but valid none the less:

Man City have bought one player and are desperately trying to keep hold of a captain who has just publicly agitated for a move for the 3rd time

Spurs have bought nobody and are desperately trying to keep hold of their best player who has publicly agitated for a move.

Chelsea have bought nobody.

Man United have had 2 first teamers retire and have brought three in. Two of whom are under 20.

?

he was comfortably our best player in the u21s and was very good cover considering who's he's replacing and the standard expected at United...

He was responsible for giving possession away with hopeful lumps up top so many times in the very few minutes of football i watched. Its no good being good at winning the ball if all you do is give it back again.

Congratulations at making a statement about an entire players tournament based on watching 'very few minutes of football'.

By all accounts I've read him and Jones were the outstanding members of the team and were bringing the ball forward because the middle two CMs were next to useless.

He looked really composed and good for such a young lad being thrown in at the deep end at Manchester United, after all it was only 2 years ago he looked like this:

A terrific turn around I'm sure you will agree. The hairdresser did a fantastic job.

I watched over 45 mins of each game. He did it loads for such a short period of time. I remember at least 3 which nearly hit the corner flag. I understand he's young just it didnt seem to me he's that good just yet.

Give it a rest would ya? I admire your optimism but you're plucking at straws picking on the so called short comings of your rivals, Chelsea haven't signed anyone? So what they're still a stronger side than Arsenal. United have lost 2 first teamers? Really? Scholes barely played, VDS on paper will be missed but who knows how well De Gea will perform. Touching on Jones and his age being a negative that didn't stop Wenger from enquiring about him 24 hours before he had his United medical.

Like I said kudos for not thinking everything is half empty like DM but it's odds on that you WILL loose one of if not both Fabregas and Nasri and on Nasri I haven't read anywhere that's he's about to sign a new contract so if you're believing that from a source in the media then it's largely out numbered by the countless stories over the past 48 hours that he wants out and wants to join United.

You're right in what you say but because Nasri and Fabregas haven't come out and said "We're staying for at least this season etc.." the more they say nothing, the more the press whirlwind the story up and the more it seems believable.

With Arsenal being less active then their rivals in the transfer market, the four signings you need seem a lot further away then it would for some teams

Man City - they have only bought one player and have got the Tevez problem, but they've been linked with Sanchez so it shows they are trying to get some high quality players in

Spurs - you've said it all really.

Chelsea - they were mainly focused on their manager initially and they also put a bid in for Modric.

Man Utd - they have shown the most activity among the top teams and I'd say 90% of not only their fans but football fans in general would say that the players they have got are very good now and should hopefully improve to become top players.

I think it's just the lack of ambition shown publically which causes a lot of the Arsenal strife.

I think he is absolutely right. None of the top 5 or 6 teams are looking any stronger (currently) than they were last season and we aren't a lot weaker yet as I don't really consider Clichy as a massive loss. Some have similar problems to us with regards to unsettled players. Teves was about as key a player as you could get at Man City last season.

If, by the start of the season, Nasri and Fab go and no replacements come in then it will be a massive cause for concern. At the moment the rumour of our downfall is based on absolutely nothing.

As I mentioned it wasn't something I said. I'm just fed up of people only seeing negatives, when other clubs have done very little in the transfer market, when it's only been open 8 days.

And look what happened last season, Arsenal released a statement saying Cesc was not for sale at any price, and what happened, the papers continued with the stories, so why say anything? Did Spurs do the same thing yesterday, and look rumours just carry on!

Arsenal have been linked with plenty of players this summer, Hazard, Benzema etc, but perhaps the club doesn't like to air it's laundry in public?

Oh reports are that Essien has done his cruciate ligament.

I wouldn't call the continued stories about Fabregas and Nasri leaving nothing to be honest

The rumours come from the same man, who has an interest in moving them on and his father was removed from the club.

People react like the club will explode and it will be the end of the club if they leave when in reality there hasn't even been a fee agreed for either player. Even if they do leave better players have left before them, and the club has gone on.

It's nothing until it happens. It was the same with Fabregas leaving last season.

It's not really about that anyway is it as I think they will probably both go. It's the odd notion, pretty much every summer, that this coming season will finally be the one where Arsenal fall out of the top 4. It's not really based on any facts or figures but just seems to be a feeling people have. This feeling is generally fired by the press who for some reason appear to want it to happen with all of their bitter, french hating hearts.

This is really something that we can only give an informed opinion on when the season starts.

Looking at Spurs position of sell before we buy, Liverpool's pretty uninspiring purchases so far, Man City's best player by some distance wanting away, Chelsea working in a new manager and with an aging team, I personally don't see us in any worse position than we were last season.

Not transfer news but Essien has apparently suffered a pretty serious knee injury in training, people jumping on the cruciate angle which would probably rule him out for the entire season.

Injuries have ruined that guys career, looked so good at Lyon, never looked all that at Chelsea though

That's a shame to hear. I love to watch him when he is in full flow. Great players.

Unfortunately it's just one of those things, United have it every year that Fergie's done and United are now on the decline, every year is Liverpool's year blah blah blah. No point getting fed up with it just take solace in the fact that year after year Liverpool still win **** all :D

Yeah you know every year I always tell myself that I should impose a Mugabe media lock-down during the summer but its hard enough that there is no football at all without cutting myself off completely.

I've spent the last few days refreshing the Arsenal.com which is maddening.
