British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

I agree with Dr Who – Alonso is even worse than Hamilton IMO.

I think he's his own worst enemy because if he hadn't had a hissy hit after Monaco then his statement today might have come across more authoritative rather than whiny.

Newspapers never put a different spin on things do they (NoW)
But if you WAS there at the said interviews I take it all back :D:p

Obviously I wasn't there but he had a rant live on national television after Monaco so I was able to see that for myself.

It's also why I said if the interviewer was paraphrasing then it's slightly different to if it was a direct quote.

No agreement Reached from the OTBD meeting. Started at 10:30am.

The whole thing is turning into a right farce isn't it...!
Although I agree that this needs to be changed, but as many many others have said you cannot start changing rules half way through the season however unfair it is.

Teams will always look for loop holes in the rules and perhaps the FIA should look at better ways on how the rules can be enforced and not misinterpreted or.... and here is a leftfield idea, just forget about rules apart from size of engine and other essential safety rules and just let development happen.

After all, a lot of ideas from F1 have been used in road cars in the past and that was the whole point to showcase their wares. This seems to be getting less and less, at least I cannot think of any... Anyone else think of any developments from F1 that have been migrated to road cars in recent years?

Agree with you there. Jenson and Lewis do to much media work that's why Mclaren need the WCC asap.

I said before, the rules are a joke in F1 at the moment because they constantly allow teams to probe and find loopholes.
Rather then say whatever they say about flexiwings and have some stupid flex test which everyone's wing passes, but we still see them hitting the floor during the race, they should be allowed to say "look, okay you passed the test but we can clearly see something's not right, change it. .. end of discussion"

I just think rules are set at the start of a season and should be left alone. If it against the rules, then they shouldn't be allowed to enter the first race, everything else is fair game until the end of the season.

According to Autosport it's Ferrari and Sauber refusing to agree to the Pre-Silverstone spec. They clearly have gained an advantage, how amusing :D

Clicky here

So Autosport changed their mind then? Story not getting enough attention when it was (williams?) and Sauber as reported yesterday?
Not that im a suspicious person or anything.

This!

Sometimes people are gonna come up with a loophole and runaway with it, people need to accept that and keep fighting for all the other places and points.

Exactly, its the incompetence of the FIA since what, 97? which has allowed an individual or team to run away with things 80% of the time because they make ambiguous rulings with loads of loopholes to exploit in the first place.. so why on earth are they mid-season rule changing all of a sudden?.. has nothing to do with F1 dropping audience figures i bet
