LOTRO free to play going ahead.

I'm totally up for joining a OCUK kinship.

Hows about I message both of you, and the first one to add gets me? If either of you want me of course. My main is Samoil RK, though I have a 45 guardian I got bored of 2 years ago If he's needed. They made me change his name from Evilsam to Barunor... :/

I'm not trying to get into a recruitment competition with anyone, least of all an OCUK kin. If thats the direction you want to head in, apply there and join.

If you want to try Sanctuary for any reason, give me a shout. I'm sure that both Kins would prefer you picked and committed to one rather than just hedging your bets. :D

And, of course, you can always add people to your friends list too even if they are not in your Kin so that you can see when they are in-game if you want to group up.

We're still about, though not so much in the run up to Isengard. From the looks of things a fair few of us will be back on Laurelin at release.

Does anyone play on Evernight?

Fairly sure I spotted some familiar names running around. Just about 600k off 65 with my Minstrel, to go along with my Gaurdian, Hunter & Lore-master who're all ready at level cap.

With the impending Minstrel changes coming with Isengard, playing the Minstrel is going to be like starting from scratch for me :D

Minstrel Dev Diary --> http://forums.xsgamers.com/content.php/50-LOTRO-Rise-of-Isengard-Minstrel-Developer-Diary

If anyone needs a Heal, Guard, bit of pew-pew or crowd control then hit up my alts, Farcough, Spam, Hysteria & Gwomyr. :)

Holy crap, look at the minstrel changes! It is just me or does it all seem massively overcomplicated?

Looks like it was done by the same dev who did the Warden, the mechanics seem a lot closer to warden now.

Need advice i have no idea what class i want to be except i dont want to play as guardian or champion. Also i want to be a Hobbit if that helps narrow the advice.

Hobbit Hunters (a pure ranged DPS class) are good, and can be very fun in PvP. Hobbit Minstrels (the main healer) are also a good choice because in raids they can feign death and help recover form a wipe. Finally, Hobbit burglars are the 'default' choice for hobbit fans, and are pretty decent too (although a lot of people feel that humans are a better choice because the self-heal compliments the burglars abilities better).

These two links are very helpful for players starting out:

For a first character a Hunter (with Explorer profession) is a highly recommended choice as Hunters are a straightforward and very good ranged DPS choice and have practically free porting abilities to all the important locations. The Explorer profession means that you can make armours for yourself while gathering wood/ore which you can sell on to other players (at highly exorbitant rates frequently) and use the huge amount of cash you make to buy any equipment you fancy.

Well i been playing my Hobbit Hunter who is at level 6 now. I also preordered the next expansion pack, i went with the legendary edition. I get some nice bonuses straight away. Like a 25% xp bonus till level 65, and some nice mounts. What level do i get the riding ability?
Also i got 2000 turbine points, i wont bother with xp bonuses as i already have quite a good one till level 65. Should i buy permant stat boost. As im a hunter ill need to increase my agililty to make me better with a bow shall i just spend all my points on that?

Level 20 mate, although, i saw a low level riding the Rohan mount at lvl 6 when i was levelling my elf character, so i'm curious whether you can buy the skill, and off you go.

No, don't buy the stat boost, you don't need it. Just lay traps before you shoot and you're golden unless you aggro more than you wanted to, but Hunters deal good damage and acquire AOE's as you level up and get even better as well.

Once you get the riding skill you can use any of the Rohan mounts. VIPs can get the riding skill for free at level 20 after doing a quest. However, anyone can buy the skill from the store for 95TP after they finish the starter areas (so usually about level 5-7).

It is better not to bother with stat boosts until you have all the quest packs you would like. As you have the legendary edition of Isengard, you only really need Evendim and Forochel to take you between the free content and the quest packs you already got. To be honest while the stat boosts are nice at lower levels, they are fairly unimportant once you get above level 40 or so. You will actually get far more by making sure you get a nice bow from quests, skirmishes or the Auction Houses in Bree. (Don't blow all your cash on the AH items though as you level very quickly up to about 40.)
