***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Exactly; they're light emitting diodes, they don't need a backlight. This is why i can't understand why there's any sort of glow at all when the screen is supposed to be entirely black :p

The LEDs are emitting some light though whether it is miniscule or not who knows but some light is being emitted, maybe it's residual power or something.

I've seen some comparison pictures with other phones and the S3 screen looks very pink when on a white background, does this affect all screens or just a few?

\Like almost all AMOLED devices, only a few as screens vary in out of the box calibration.

See the XDA thread for the pictures. Couple of S3s/2s and notes. Hit and miss if you get a pink screen.

Nice battery usage:

I find that after say leaving the phone on standby overnight, it doesn't automatically reconnect to my WiFi network, saying it's not in range, so it's on 3G instead. I have to toggle the WiFi off and then back on to reconnect. Anyone else experiencing this?

Screen time? What you've posted is entirely meaningless without that... (I'm guessing it's pretty low, at 23%)

This 1000 times.

Plus also post your usage as in texts, phone calls, time browsing, what syncs etc. and most importantly screen brightness.

Have you left eye tracking on etc.

Also never take screenshots for battery related stuff when you still have over 15% left (especially when it still has over 50% left!!!!!!) as with some phones the battery meter isn't consistent i.e. it might take forever to go from 100-50, however, once you hit 50 it drains much quicker then, so wait till at least 15% then screenshot everything.

e.g. just like the below with my 1S regarding battery life:

Usage: few texts, few phone calls, a lot of web browsing, installing/uninstalling apps, about 10-15 min of youtube videos, about 5 photos taken, about 10-15 min of games, about 15 minutes of TV catchup, a bit of GPS, mostly wifi connection and H/3G connection for a bit, snowstorm syncing every 2 hours and sense weather refreshing every 6 hours, general messing around in apps etc. some whatsapp use, gmail push and automatic brightness etc.

So i went to see both colours in the flesh in some stores today.

I have been a big pebble blue lover from the start but after seeing both in the flesh.................i'm now not sure!

In Vodafone and Phones4u the lighting made the blue one look a little dodgy but under the lighting in the O2 shop, the blue one looked a lot better!

Argh,cant decide. now :(

Everyone and their children have the white one, go for the blue!

That and the rumour of the blue in the new batch being darker...
