Interesting... I've signed Dali Gomez, and his passing and finishing are very poor [though he's performing okay for me so far]. Also bear in mind that he's a Left-footer, and he speako no Inglese, so you'll have to give him time.Dale Gomez (I something like that) a 24 year old Argentinian striker who's quick, good finishing and good passing, terrible composure though so never let him take penalties.
I've not unearthed any bona-fide LL gems yet [that's what you get for a Sunday League reputation, I suppose!], but the better players I've found are:
Calum Dingwall [AF/Poacher] - Relatively fast, strong and with good anticipation and off-the-ball movement, which makes him a good poacher, despite his lack of finishing skill. A great candidate for "Target Man (Run onto ball)".
Billy Tsovolos [Left FB, CD] - A promising young Aussie defender who I think was at Eastleigh [so no work permit faff]. Better than average passing means he can play as a CD rather than a LD. He can also play Left full-back, but he's a right-footer so won't make the most of that position.
Ladjie Soukouna [Anywhere!] - The most versatile player I think I've ever seen in FM [seriously, check out his Positions map!]. Not amazing attribute-wise, but combine his physical bias and versatility and you've got an excellent LL small-squad member, and perhaps the best BWM for a 4-4-2 in the basement divisions.
I have to say I'm struggling to find the gems that FM2012 seemed more generous to dish out. My system is crying out for a creative Trequartista/AP - usually, I can find some 30-odd year old foreign veteran with mostly-10s across the Technical and Mental attributes, but not with 2013 so far. I'm certainly relying on loans more than I needed to previously.
EDIT: Not noticed anything suspicious with the 13 match engine, I have to say. But then again, I never go back and replay games/saves unless there's a crash [which amazingly, there hasn't been yet
