*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Haha, worth a try.

I think I'll ask politely tomorrow "give me my phone back" and see how that fares first, if not I'll try the above :P

Any luck getting your phone back Mate?

If not I have two M8s sitting here with a third one to be delivered tomorrow lol

On a serious note the replacement had scuff marks at the bottom and looked like it had been used before as there were fingerprints over the screen.

Was not impressed....So I got onto Amazon and demanded that the replacement they send has to be new.

Am giving this phone one last try and if it doesn't work out back to my fresh new N5 that's waiting for me.

The original M8 is literally eating through the battery....

I'm about to ask now lol, will keep you updated.

I had this with the Moto X and I couldn't figure out what it was. So annoying.

Tell me about it. I have quite literally nothing installed on the phone. What's worse is that KitKat needs root to make use of Wakelock detectors.

I'm really annoyed seeing as everyone is reporting an excellent battery life..
URGH!!!

Factory reset and just use basic apps for a week. See what gives.

Shame we never get that much time to fully test a phone so are forced to ship them back.

Should be a no hassle 14 days for everyone, probably prevent a lot of aggro in the long run for everyone.

I've performed 3 factory resets and literally have three apps on the phone running. These apps I had on my N5 and it didn't affect the battery at all - no wakelocks, nothing.

It's nothing but a hassle sending phones back, I have two M8s waiting to go back and a third being delivered tomorrow. Thankfully it's via Amazon so I have time to send them back but yes I agree it is aggro, that really isn't needed.

So finally got a HTC One M8. Ended up telling T-Mobile to take a running jump. Went with a sim free phone and the sim only deal for Three with unlimited data etc.

Less per month over all and half the cost of the TM/EE deal over a 2 year period.

Had a look at one today and very nice phone, feels quality. Do g stuff was very quick and I liked Sense 6. Just got to decide if I can afford £38 pm, could not get one cheaper with decent data allowance.

If you can afford to get one out right then go for the Three One sim only plan.

20 pcm for 12 months and the phone is £450, you get totally unlimited data with no cap on tethering and 4G if it is in your area.

first year costs more than a traditional contract but the second is half the cost. Best I had offered after 7 years with T-Mobile, was £30 for phone, 10Gb data for 42.99 a month which would have been nearly £550 for the first year and nearly £1100 over the 2 year term.

Had to return my m8 after carphone warehouse screwed up my upgrade from tmobile to ee.

Gutted, absolutely loved the phone and now, as a bonus, I'm left without service until monday.

Will probably stick with my s3 for a few more months as I can't justify the cost without the cashback carphone warehouse were offering.

That's exactly what happened to me except it was T-mobile that messed it up, after 10 days of farting about I told them to shove it and left for Three!

O2 Refresh aint a bad deal for this handset.

Phone plan is £480 which is reasonable. Then you got your tariff on top. When the phone is paid off, you can exit the plan whenever you like.

Also learned recently, O2 let you network unlock the handset whenever you feel like it free of charge. I unlocked mine a day after I got it.

Anyone flashed the Google Edition Rom on their M8?

Anyone flashed any custom rom on their M8 yet? Could anyone provide a link with simple instructions on how to root/flash a custom rom please? Seems a bit different to other devices.

Thanks
