If he'd come and wouldn't want exorbitant wages I'd take Ashley Cole for a year or two - god knows we need shot of danny rose (unless he takes a huuuuuge step in his development over the summer) and we could do a lot worse than someone with that amount of experience - gallas did well for us.

Other than that I think we could do with another solid central defender and possibly a striker if ade leaves for Monaco.

If Shaw went to Spurs, he'd get bumped up to 100k a week, get first team football and can move on again in 1-2 years and start at even bigger wages at a top 4 club. He'd likely actually both play more, have more choice of moves in 2 years(Real/Barca/Bayern might be interested if he does well in europe and is a bit older/more recognised).

Judging by how good Shaw has looked, if he improves at all in the next couple years, 25mil now could turn into more than that in a couple years when he's more proven.

Because Utd just went and handed Evra an extension, will Shaw automatically be first team next season at Utd, would he be at Chelsea considering they have he who I can't spell the name of and big arse on the other side who are a fantastic pair of fullbacks to begin with.

At Spurs he'd be... lol, starting ahead of Rose. If I was Shaw I'd pick games over a particular team at his age, then move when he'd be an absolutely rock solid certain starter at a bigger club if the offer comes along.

Doesn't Lallana play in the same position as Eriksen?

i'd imagine we'd offer sig and one or two others in a deal. we wouldn't move eriksen but sig is expendable.i'm not sold on him (lallana) tbh

but we need a lb badly and i'd take cole in a heart beat. can't see us getting shaw even though we have poch as i feel that poch wouldn't have much influence in persuading shaw though a starting position and a huge wage increase may be a possible chip but no, can't see anything in it happening.

I'd have Lallana myself, especially for Liverpool where he'd be more of an asset then Eriksen. I don't mean to put Spurs down but Shaw and to a lesser extent Lallana are unrealistic targets with Chelsea,Liverpool, United involved.

Lallana looks nailed in for Liverpool and Shaw can take his pick by all accounts....he isn't going to pick Spurs.

I am pretty sure Levy would have checked that Pochettino would be happy to work with the existing players at Spurs and that he wasnt going to rely on favourites

Rodriguez (roughly)= Lamela/Townsend
Lallana = Eriksen
Lambert = Adebayor

The players are there (apart from LB, which is a huge problem for Spurs), MoPo just needs to get them firing

I really rate Lallana and I'd love to have him at Liverpool but given the choice I'd choose Eriksen every time.

I'd take Lallana. Eriksen's probably a touch more creative but he's a luxury player; I can't say I've ever noticed him pressing or closing down like our players and Lallana do and I think he needs to be playing in a central free role with a side built around him and he's not good enough for us to build a team around him.

If Lallana was 2-3 years younger he'd be absolutely perfect for us and I'd be happy for us to pay the £30m Southampton are supposedly demanding. Everything about the way he plays and the positions he plays suits us down to the ground; he can play off the front, wide and in a midfield 3 similarly to how Coutinho does, and he is one of the best pressing forwards/midfielders around.

At 26 I'd be a little uneasy on us spending a great deal more than £20m on him though.

or maybe 4 yrs younger..... like eriksen is. but hey, you'd still take lallana.

Yes I would. My reason for preferring Lallana to Eriksen is down to the types of players they are not their ages.

My reason for not wanting to spend too much on Lallana is his age. They're 2 separate points cm :)

At this stage you would be mad to take Lallana over Eriksen.

Yes I am a Spurs fan, and I love both players, but Eriksen is clearly a different class. I would rather get Lamela fit and playing to his potential than take a risk on Lallana.

All I would like to see us do this summer is sign some bloody decent defenders. Ashley Cole on a free? Yes please.

I would even take Lescott to replace Dawson/Kaboul if he's free and willing.
