******* Official Football Manager 2015 Thread *******

I'm finding it a bit crazy to be honest. Really struggling with the scouting full stop this year. I've got a couple of good scouts, and they are still predicting the wrong attributes and potential ability. I guess it will improve as I jump up the league and can invest more money in it. But at the mo it's a big gamble whatever I do.

I'm finding that certain players whom seem to have the potential to be world beats are being regarded as decent prem players. Overall I quite like the new scouting, but getting a bit fed up that the rating system doesn't always include a description. I.e. the player may have the potential for 4 1/5 stars, but the "has the potential to turn into an xxxx" isn't always noted in the reports.

Just sold this kid for £4m to Everton after only a season of having him. 18 years old, could have developed into something pretty decent but his contract was up in 18 months and he was unhappy at not getting first team football, despite his performances being woeful and us having a much better LB on loan. Unfortunately the bid came in just before the deadline day and I've now got £3m to spend but the window has closed!

It's pretty mental because I've turned hidden attributes on in the scouting list and I can see who the best potential players are without scouting them. But when I do scout them they are still only showing as 3-4 star. I just don't get it. A bug?

Na i think it's generally tougher to scout to maybe get the sense of players going beyond your expectations. I would genie scout it and test with a 200 pa scout over 3 months to calibrate the results.

Yeah you're probably right. Best results for me so far have come from trials. As the trial expires after 1 week I usually have 100% coverage of the player and can make an informed decision from there. But obviously that only works with the free agents. I guess scouting is going to take longer. But if its more realistic that's good.

Has anyone got the Shinypack installed? Where do you extract the files exactly. I've followed the instructions but it doesn't appear right to me.

If you've not changed your FM2015 data folder from your documents then it's hard to go wrong with the actual location of files.

But you must ensure these options are set in the FM2015 preferences:
  • Tick "Always Reload Skin on Confirm"
  • Untick "Use Skin Cache"

This chap has progressed nicely - had a decent season in the Championship, and has helped my Cambridge side to promotion.

But, given the current interest, do I sell him? And for how much. Everyone seems interested in him, and I'm going to need money to survive in the EPL next season, but already have £3m to blow in the close season before my budget for next year has been announced. What would you guys do>

When I sell I ALWAYS sell lower but add a 30% sell on fee to get a decent amount of income from player sales later on :)

I also take time to buy loads of kids with good potential, loan them out for a season then sell them on for same money as I bought them for but the 30% sell on fee. You can get 2-3 mill a year extra cash by taking time to do this :)

Yeah, always keen to get the sell on. The slightly annoying thing is that I've just got promoted to the EPL, and have a £3m budget and maximum wage budget of £4.2 per week :( Also, just tried to buy this guy, but they wanted £3.3m from me however they accepted £425k from Everton? Looks like he could be incredible in a few years' time.

This may be the most incredible turning point in my season!

I'm (Cambridge) second from bottom in the Premiership, been given a wage budget of about £130k per week (which I've managed to just about get up to £185k), plus a pitiful transfer budget of £3m. Suffice to say, I'm struggling and could realistically face my first relegation in about 5 different releases of FM.

That said, there are 4 awful teams in the Premiership this season, so one of us is going to survive, but I'm on a run of 1 win in 18, with only about 2 or 3 of those being draws. I desperately need a win, but have been completely void of all luck (I think I've hit the woodwork more frequently than I've scored). Then this happens:

haha.. In the Premiership too.. I hate to say it but I've seen a couple of those. Absolutely brilliant :D

I'm Bristol Rovers. In the Champs, was supposed to be middle of the park this season, but for some reason I find myself leading the league  Although it is a close run thing with some classy sides like Newcastle I'm not sure I will be able to keep my position for long. To be honest I don't feel ready for the top tier yet! Haven't got the money, although I do have an excellent back room team.

Players seem to get unhappy ridiculously quickly with not being first team. Even if they're signed as a squad rotation/backup and end up playing say 30% of games they're still saying they're unhappy. I even had a player out injured for a 2 months, was back in training so I didn't play him for one match while his fitness returned and he complained that he hadn't played much recently :/

Yes I'm finding this too. In fact the only way round it is to sign them as backups or rotations initially, which of course a lot of players won't accept. I'm also being offered a ridiculous amount of jobs. Okay I am quite successful having got Bristol into the Champs but I've had 20 job offers this season.

Finally been able to get into this.

Doing well with my Boro save, finally got them playing how I want them too. Not hitting the bar anywhere near as much, but missing much easier chances (But they do happen in real life)

Tons of match engine issues though. There was one where my keeper saved the ball, but basically skated the ball over the net lol.
I get no penalties, but the AI gets a few for challenges no worse than what I've received.

EDIT : How on Earth do I terminate loans?! Fredericks hasn't really been rated, so he's just a waste at my Boro squad.
