I think those who are keen to welcome the migrants should show their sincerity by offering to temporarily house some of them.
Seems to be the attitude these days just push the problem down the line to the next generation
That would be against their human rights.
Just electrify the middle fence if they climb over the razor wire to get the the electricity it's their own fault
What has the bible got to do with it ? 90% of the population do not want them here. So aside from putting a bullet in the back of there heads which doesn't seem to go down well with many on here, you have 4 options.
1: Let them in with open arms, then within 5 years we are back to square 1, no homes for them, no jobs and that just means trouble...
2: Tighten up border controls and let nothing pass, let us deal with the economic problems
3: Let them in via controlled methods, find out where they are from and send them back on a Hercules when enough from that nation are there to fill it. Tell them in no un-certain terms they are not welcome and send half the fuel bill to the EU.
4: Send in ground troops and basicly invade IRAQ tell the people in no un-certain terms that there leaders both religious and tribal are corrupt to the bone and not simply good enough to rule. We the UK are now here for the next 100 years while we try and sort this mess out for you whilst building a infrastructure and tolerance that we are good for. The downside to this is Iraq has been re-named to Iraqshire, everyone needs to learn English and you all need to stop being lazy son`s of ******* , start working and taking responsibility of your lives.

Yes!!! Let every migrant in. Every one of them in the world! Lets all be Christian (Even those that don't believe in God). Lets open our arms to them. Feed them, clothe them, give them money. Lets give them housing and all the available jobs! Lets bring their families over too, Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles. Even their dogs!
Just because i believe in God doesn't mean i should let others trample all over me and my family! Where would it end? Yes, maybe there are quite a few who should be let in. But, we can only accommodate a certain %.
We can't save every refugee! Their problem needs sorting at its source.
this thread is depressing reading, the attitude that many of you have towards these people is shameful, the fact that people are dying trying to get into this country is an indication of how desperate they are.
I have no idea what a particle solution is but treating them like animals isn't it, most of the recent migrants are coming from country's that have been affected by direct intervention by our government.

There are plenty of surveys and polls available which show the majority of Britons are unhappy with immigration levels. Are you seriously going to try and argue that the majority would be okay with these illegals entering Britain?

Just because people are dying trying to get here, does not prove their desperation. Many of these people are poorly educated and ignorant of the risks they take. Some calculate that the economic benefits greatly outweigh those risks. There are a whole range of possible explanations, but I very much doubt an immigrant in France has any cause to be desperate about reaching the UK.

I wish people would stop repeating this myth - most of the migrants in Calais I've seen on the news are from Sudan, Eritrea and Somalia, places we aren't involved with at all.
Also, there are people on this forum desperate to emigrate to the USA or Australia or New Zealand, but don't because they have respect for the law. Do you honestly think having got here, Johnny Immigrant is going to be happy with his £35 a week in benefits? Of course he isn't - he's going to find other sources of income whether it be doing a legal worker out of a job or general crime.
They don't seem that desperate, having come all this way through two or three safe countries just to get here, specifically.
And they are acting LIKE animals, some of them.
