Your less likely to kill a third party or injure anyone on a bike I suppose vs a big car
But all insurance is a rip off
Doesn't seem a bad price after just one year in the saddle.
But driving a 2 seater such as MX5 1.8 you're less likely to kill your passenger. Than you're killing the pillion sitting at the back of your bike without a cage around them, its more likely you'll die on a bike than in a car accident.
So no logic in this...
Don't forget you're paying for third party cover (damage you can do to others) as much as as damage to your own vehicle, and in a car that potential damage is much, much higher.
A car is much more of a weapon than a bike - just look at the accidents (ok, with lorries, but cars aren't that much smaller) with vehicles ploughing into pedestrians. If you lost control of an MX5 at 40mph and hit a line of people waiting for a bus - the payout would be in many, many figures. On a bike, you'd maybe hit a couple of them, maybe one serious injury. In a car, many dead.Don't forget you're paying for third party cover (damage you can do to others) as much as as damage to your own vehicle, and in a car that potential damage is much, much higher.
Youngster statically is more likely to cause an accident in their chavy pimped corsa. I wonder what the insurance situation with the insurance would be like if more people rode bikes...So the insurance will be even cheaper, I wonder what my insurance will be like after 2 years with no claims will be on a GSXR 750. Supersports seem to be the most expensive to insure, too many show off's like those bikes...![]()
