*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

It doesn't, and it doesn't include HD just so you're aware.

My Sky officially ends early June, I'm quite interested in Q but I've been quoted £96 a month to get the full package. I nearly spat my tea out! No offers as it's a "premium" service. Oh well!

It does include HD.
I was on Family Bundle which includes HD. Was paying £36/month, going up to £38/month from June 1st.
Cancelled and used 50% offer.
I know have EXACTLY the same bundle (including HD) and my two forthcoming bills are both £19.

Thanks yes read through the blurb, it's not really 50% off. I had 50% off everything previously (inc. multi screen etc). Will hold out for a call.

Are there any good new customer offers out there?

Hey Guys,

Just looking to shop around again, any decent offers?

I missed my 50% off come back to Sky, left a year ago.

Now the prices are back up with a free tv which i dont really need.

On the front page when you log in, my offer has just disappeared for some reason on my old account.

If you can't see it, it's not there unfortunately :-(

I'm just on chat with them now processing the cancellation. Just wanted to make sure where to check so I didn't miss it.

Thanks!

Edit: Still on chat but I can already see this:

"Stay with Sky and get an exclusive 50% off any TV Bundle for 12 months."

£50-60?! Is that including line rental? Still seems hideously expensive even so.

I pay £23 for 200mb before line rental.

how is that hideously expensive? you pay £23 + line rental £13 so you pay £36 with out a tv package.
I pay £54 a month for 100mb fiber, 2 sky HD box's, Unlimited House phone, line rental and all hardware covered for failure for 5 years....

with the way the world is going now i think that fantastic.

always phone to cancel never to renew, they gave me £4 off line rental per month, multi room for £2.85 a month, my fiber as 50% off for 12 months, 2 new 1tb box's, 2 new catch up wifi dongles and free sports for 6 months just in time for football and f1.

i have been with sky for 8 years tho

Well I've just had some fun with them! As soon as the cancellation was done there was a 50% offer on the website. I went onto the chat to discuss it to check if it included HD etc. We have the Family Bundle, Movies, Sports, HD and Multiroom. The 50% did not include HD or Multiroom and at the end of it all the monthly charge would be £55.

They then offered a £50 credit as well. I said that's not good enough and the only alternative they offered was the free LG TV and a £1.50 bill discount for 10 months.

Both of these deals were based on 12 month contracts. Throughout the chat they kept saying "shall we go ahead and activate the deal for you" to which I said no each time as I wanted to do maths and actually think about it.

When I said I need to go away and think they said I couldn't. They said I had to accept it then and if I went away then the offers would be gone.

I've called up complaints to say I felt forced to enter a contract which really isn't acceptable. I have been assured the offers WILL still be available if I call up tomorrow.

Don't let the people on chat force you into a corner!

The best offer comes the day after they switch it off.

You have no need to go on chat, you are too keen.

The best offer being you pay £0? :p

My cancellation goes through start of June so I'll see if there is anything. I don't plan on resubscribing anyway.

Well my 6 months is up and I just cancelled after paying the extra few quid that was owed on the account. Not really using it much, will wait until the next freebie deal comes around!

And lo and behold, got a call today and £50 credit applied so another 5 months for free!

When my contract is due I will cancel and hopefully will get the 50%
the TV package.
I am happy with boardband and now there is the Q box !
Only problem is the new router only has 2 inputs at the back !

This is what I got a year ago after waiting. Interesting to see it still being offered.

Use chat to cancel. Dont accept offers.
Let it cancel.
wait for the offer
go to chat and resub.

12 months later, and repeat.

Bit of a bind but thats how they treat existing customers even long term ones.

That £100 + 60% offer is what i am on right now, i really hope i get the same as that again, good to see it being offered still :)

My 50% off has increased to 60% off and £25 credit 2 months after cancelling, wish I could remove skysports (don't want football, keep F1) for HD in that price.
