NEARLY 2 WEEKS WAITING: Nissan GT-R is finally mine!

Stage 2? Don't bother, just go to 4 with downpipes! I loved mine with 660hp/625lbft, a stock one feels sluggish after driving that! :D

CATDT are good but I much preferred going out on track. Interesting to see how the GTR feels and moves at speed in a safe environment though.

Carpets are were on my list of things to get done this year, but looks like the new discs and pads have put that out the window :D


If I set the VDC to race it gives some more wiggle room, turning it off it can oversteer. However it has been said that getting some uprated ARBs on the earlier models like mine actually sorts it out quite well without the huge cost of the suspension upgrades, so may give that a go first.

Shes a heavy lump, so she likes to go slow in and very fast out, however I have some very nice long tight corners near me, so would like to go into them with a bit more confidence and think if I can get the car closer to neutral it would make a world of difference.

I want to enjoy the extra power progressively :) Sure jumping to 4.25 can be done but then the next step up is more expensive than going through 1-4.25 in steps.
 
Fantastic car and great choice of colour:) If you dont mind me asking, what have running costs been like in your first year of ownership? I was very tempted to get one a couple of years ago, but heard a few horror stories relating to parts / servicing. Decided a 370z Nismo was a wiser choice, but not sure now.

Honestly not bad, October was a big service, came to ~£1400 but that included an optional preventative upgrade which added £240 to the bill or so.

The next service is circa ~£200 but again its going to be ~£1400 all in (when you add in the cost of the discs and pads).

£60 - £120 per week of fuel, but it is my daily driver and I drive it like I stole it. From 10 miles remaining shown to full is ~£66

Both the big expenses could probably have avoided if I'd been a bit more savvy when buying.

But based on these, and the experiences of other owners, I think if you can put aside £200 a month for servicing and maintenance, that will cover most things short of a major unexpected issue. Then you just need to fill it with fuel and keep your tyres in good nick.

What can i say its my DREAM CAR :)

My mate daily drove one for 2 years. He drives like me or... Vin Diesel LIKE HE STOLE IT.
Concerted 30k miles in that time. and NOTHING broke. Besides Maintenance parts pads discs fluids and tyres like in any car.

Super practical with big booth. Perfect combination of daily useful and track car in one. And it does do 200mph with 4 people in it On German motorways OFC ;).

When driving hard u can expect average of 13-14mpg same as my mates RX8 for comparison :D

Michelin seem to have brought their prices down to "sensible" levels recently.

Last year a full set of MPSS would have set me back 1.5k.
 
Like few months back gotten set of PS3s for my integra all around for...250 pounds :D No PS4s for my rim size :(
 
Strange turn of events. Something was niggling at me so I called my local tyre place and got a quote.

They could do them for £200 a corner, bargain!
