Windows 10

I'm not liking the idea of removing right click from the start menu, it's natural to me now as I use it in work with 2012 R2.

Has it been removed in Server 2016?

Someone mentioned it has been removed.
i'm assuming you are talking about the right click menu, which is most deffintley stiill there.
the only thing that has been removed from it, is the control panel, as settings has been massively fleshed out, not everything in there yet, but a colossal improvement and in nearly all cases is better than the old control panel(learning curve etc ).

The new Defender is better, but this is annoying, it reports an "issue" if you have a device driver or device disabled in Device Manager. I use Cisco AnyConnect for VPN access to work, and when the VPN is not active, it disables itself in Device Manager, and enables itself when I connect. Obviously Defender doesn't like seeing it disabled... I want to be able to whitelist AnyConnect so Defender stops this nonsense, but no whitelist function can be found...

Noticed that as well, I have a PCIe wifi adapter in my work PC which I use to troubleshoot AP/routers and usually have it disabled. Decided to give the "fix" a go and it asked me to restart after enabling the adapter.

All been looking good since it was installed last week except that now Edge occasionally decides that my previous session tabs are not worth keeping.

Got it installed today. Seemed to be a three-stage process, got big updates last night. More this morning, including checking privacy options splashscreen, and then after that more big updates and installs. Perhaps the process will vary from user to user.

Observations:

1. It deleted my wallpaper.
2. It changed sound driver from headphones to monitor speakers.
3. It removed my enhancements from headphone properties.
4. Right-click Start > Control Panel link, is gone. Have added it to Task Bar for time being, as I find it useful/easier to uninstall programs etc.
5. It changed monitor's refresh rate to default.
6. It removed my individual game settings in Nvidia Control Panel (Maximum Performance, Adaptive Vsync etc).
7. GTA V failed to launch. Fix for this was upgrading to the latest RivaTuner Beta 7.0.0 Beta 19. If you don't have RivaTuner already, then this won't be a fix for you, so don't install it.

No! Cant believe they have got rid of Control Panel. Can't stand this new Settings Windows as I can never find anything and often the search doesnt find anything.

Poor CP. RIP.

Constantly failing on my tablet for some reason and goes into a retry loop - can't be bothered to look into it or sort it at the moment.

how to fix DSR working ? with this update you cant use Nvidia DSR.

Nvidia DSR worked fine. When I enabled DSR 1.78x and 4.00x and then DSR resolutions section showed up in Nvidia control panel but after launched games both DSR resolutions 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 was not showed on list in games display settings. I tried restarted PC and DSR finally showed up in games. :)

Guys, If you are using Game mode on the creators update, turn it off. It is crippling some Nvidia control panel features. I have reported many to Nvidia.
The worst culprit is custom refresh rates made in the control panel, they work fine in desktop, but no game recognises them. As soon as you turn off game mode, all is well again. I spent hours last night narrowing down the fault with game mode.
I guess Microsoft and Nvidia don't communicate when making changes.

Edit - The bug returned, however, if I reboot after making a custom refresh rate, it seems to hold. Still not a perfect solution.

I have a laptop that had Windows 10 on. Erased all partitions from the SSD, Windows setup copies the files across, gets devices ready, restarts then seems to hang at the startup logo with spinning dotted circle. No sign of any drive activity and a forced restart produces the same result. It even gets to the point of the screen turning itself off after 10 minutes. :(

So due to the resetting option running into an error on my Surface Pro 4, I created a bootable USB with the latest ISO and... Cortana "assists" you in the installation. Freaked me out when I suddenly heard her talking.

Creepy. I already get creeped out just seeing the "HI" on the splashscreen. :)
