**** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Thread ****

This 'moisture detected' followed by a reboot is really annoying me now.

I don't use my phone in water or around water very often but even after working out if I have hot hands or sweat on them it'll detect moisture and reboot.

I've found occasionally the only way to get the water drop the go, is to boot into recovery and clear the cache.

It's reported on XDA and Samsung forums too as an issue with Oreo, Samsung as usual don't seem to care or take any notice...

I've had all of the Samsung phone since the original Galaxy S in 2010 but I think this'll be my last, the p*ss poor slow updates is annoying as well. They never seem to learn!

Ah that would explain my little episode the other day as I got a water warning despite my phone been nowhere near moisture.

Yep, it's a common bug.

Take any Note 8 on Oreo, dunk it in water and you'll likely get the water symbol followed by a reboot. Mine reboots after the water drop goes away as well :(

Samsung need to hurry up and fix this.

This phone as gone from being an outstanding phone to being a right pita.

Oreo with not a great deal of apps and the battery life is terrible. Off the charger this morning at 7am by 12.30 I was at 57% and I've hardly used it.

Seems I can wipe it start a fresh it's fine for a few weeks then it's goes down hill.

Anybody else have the same issues? It seemed to happen before I updated but with Oreo it's even worse with Oreo.

Had a nightmare with this for the last week or so. I updated to Oreo a while ago but kept getting the carrier message about doing a factory reset so I did that just before I went on holiday and then kept getting persistent charging problems due to moisture (it hadn't been in water) I was left with a dead phone for 36 hours while I was away on a stag. Got it going again after buying a wireless charger in the airport on the way home and seems like its ok now. Not sure if I trust it now though.

My battery life seems to be much worst after doing the Oreo update...:(
Am still getting terrible battery life after the Oreo update...

My note 8 battery life was amazing before the update...

Am wondering if the Oreo update has changed a setting somewhere or switched something on that could be causing it...

Posted in the Nokia 8 thread by accident. Another Oreo bug for me is the animation for the stylus apps - it's laggy as hell 100% of the time. I have Chrome crashes about every other day. Not sure about the battery as my usage/habits have changed. It definitely has not got better.

Think I am going to give the phone a spring clean.

The last week or 10 days my Note 8 has noticeably slowed down down and is very laggy to use (think a couple of seconds delay when opening and app, and typing on the keyboard is a good second behind taps), anyone know of any decent CPU usage monitoring apps? Can only see memory usage in the stock settings

I use OS Monitor but apparently it doesn't work for Android 7 or later. I have used System Monitor as well which might do what you want.

Using Google maps on my Note8 today for some satnav.
Partway through my trip it went from full screen to a small windows in the bottom corner.

No incoming calls or messages.

How do I stop this from happening?

Figured it out.
Disable picture-in-picture in Settings -> Apps
:)

No issues here, since Oreo I've noticed that once in a while I have to pin unlock rather than fingerprint but its really once every 50+ unlocks.
