What film did you watch last night?

I got a chance to watch blade runner 2049 yest

While my Mrs was annoying me the whole way through asking what it was about I found the film sublime and felt really hooked on it.

8.5 /10

Terminator (1984) - The original and (IMHO) still the best. So many classic one liners, the women with "big" 80's hair, classic guitar rock at Tech Noir (back when they still played rock music in nightclubs!) just all round 6 star (out of 5) movie.

Totally agree. I saw this twice at the cinema on it’s release and it’s the film I’ve watch more times than any other.

My favourite film.

Overall I thought the film was good and it definitely has a different vibe. But yes I spotted those dodgy rhinos and found the climax to the final fight confusingly shot

Spider-man Homecoming. 8/10. I'm not a fan of Spider-man but that I enjoyed, Tom Holland did a cracking job of making Spider-man his own to the point where I can't imagine any body else playing him, and Michael Keaton was awesome as the vulture, ide forgotten what a damn good actor he is, now my only criticism with the film being the final "boss battle" which should've been grittier given the speech Toomes had given Peter in the car outside his daughters prom.

Darkest Hour - truely excellent display from Gary Oldman, stunning in fact. Very powerful messages of desperation coupled with fear of pending doom. Thoroughly enjoyed all of it. :)

Yes it was excellent. Also saw it recently. I'm watching The Crown at the moment too so at first felt the Churchill portrayal from Oldman a little jarring because I am familiar with the guy from The Crown (who is very good). But I was soon captivated.

Same here, having recently binged the Crown as well!

However, my issue with John Lithgow was that he is enormous. Hes so tall and Churchill was short! Lithgow is a full foot and a bit taller than what Churchill actually was, although his display of whom Churchill was, I found amazing and incredibly powerful. However, I found Oldmans impersonation stronger partly due to this.

Rampage

A fan of Dwayne Johnson’s but even he couldn’t save this one. Felt like a B movie knock off of King Kong/Godzilla and the bloody awful TV series Zoo (for some of the ‘special’ effects).

3/10.

And to think this film was included in a list of pointless remakes on a website I was looking at.

How can it be ******* pointless when it's a lot closer to what Judge Dredd is intended to be! Idiots.

i prefered the stallone version.found the newer one boring.

The newer Dredd film is waaaay better than the Stallone one surely??

The newer one was far more gritty and violent as Dredd is supposed to be. The acting is of a much higher standard too. Oh, and he doesn't take his helmet off.

The Karl Urban film is much closer to a proper Dredd film.

Ready Player One..... 3/10

It's like a poorly done version of Wreck it Ralph. It spends the entire film making old pop culture references but in a way that was kinda sad and embarrassing rather than nice nods to old stuff it was just every other thing being a reference shoved down your throat. For a Spielberg film it was surprisingly bad (well Crystal Skulls abomination aside).

The entire film feels like a very poorly written, horrible attempt to cash in on the same people who loved the nods to old games by making another film doing that but in a different way. Whole thing was exceptionally ham fisted, poorly acted, terrible plot and insanely frustrating.

Just the technical details were constantly frustrating, things like they play on omnidirectional treadmills... except any time that isn't convenient they do something else. At one point of the film everyone is walking around the streets with VR headsets on yet no one walking into traffic somehow.

Ultimately I think one of the most frustrating things throughout is the main premise of the film making no sense. No one on earth would buy cosmetic items or power ups using real money in Call of Duty if they disappeared as soon as you died and had to be bought again, literally no one. People buy them because they are persistent, yet this entire film is based around the premise that people get into debt and buy items which disappear when you 'zero out' but they all decide to live in this VR world precisely because they can risk their lives doing things they won't or can't in real life.

Damn I’ve seen it all now!

dont get whats good about the newer version. hi im dreadd.goes to tower block.whole film.few special effects same as many before .oooh look the raid was popular lets copy that formula :p .

stallones vs was great fun.different ideas some really good actors in it.
