Battlefield V performance

on my setup guys im averaging around 80-100 fps on 1440p at ultra settings..the issue i have is now and again it drops to like 60-70 fps when busy and it stutters for the shortest of times..

can someone advise how i go about ironing out those issues? oh, and thats on conquest 64 man server im getting these results from.

my setup :

Ryzen 1800X
Vega 56 (powercolor)
16gb ddr4
hannspree 32" 2k 144hz monitor.

It stutters for me as well. And that's using DX11 or DX12.

I think its the game. Not even BF1 after 2 years was free of issues.

I've left everything on default. Capped fps to 144. DX12.

1440p.

Mostly smooth. But then I get this epic frame drops every now and then.

DX11 might be a little better but still get hitching.

same here mate, i changed my cap to my screen (144hz).

might try dx12 as im on dx11 atm i think..

Dx 12 has noticeable hitches that last close to a second and basically freezes the entire game up, Dx11 has more frequent little micro hitches that don't freeze the game up. Why? No idea. But considering the game engine is constantly drawing in stuff like rocks etc when you're walking along it wouldn't surprise me if some of it is down to that. Dice seem to not bother with LOD and just prefer to make things appear in front of you at relatively short distances. Take for example the tank ammo stations, you can be about 30 feet from them and it looks like its destroyed, then when you close in you see the boxes etc rendering in to let you know its not.

Btw just a heads up if any of you are getting stuttering and have a second monitor, a lot of browsers seem too cause it too stutter turning them off instantly gets rid of it for me (things like discord vlc and so on are all fine) so its worth a shot if your having issues.

Yeah I wish they would sort this out a bit I’d take the performance hit and the disadvantage just for the added immersion of less pop in. I’d also love to see a vega 64 next to my Titan running the game to judge for myself. I bet it would be very interesting

"GeForce RTX 2080 Ti users will now be able to play at over 60 FPS at 2560x1440 with DXR Raytraced"

Wow, amazeballs. A whole 60FPS+

Good news for those who thought they're cards were broken, it's all perfectly normal! :D

I'm actually somewhat pleased about this, given how woeful the performance was this is a big improvement. They should have waited until it performed like this before releasing it. Now they should add DLSS to improve performance further and then maybe it will be worth turning on.

Agree with you there, they've shot themselves in the foot really by releasing it so soon, all this should have been done before launch which would have resulted in a more positive response.

Despite all the negativity around the RTX, i do hope they produce the goods later on down the line as the tech looks pretty cool. If they can bump this to 100fps with rtx/dlss then i might just bite...

To be fair, that's using the Ultra setting. Low, medium and ultra I couldn't tell a massive difference especially during normal gameplay. Using a 2080 I get a bit over 60 FPS at 1440 with the low RT setting so if this gets closer to 70 that'll be alright.
Good progress IMO anyway.
