*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

My Quest 2 is arriving today with Yodel but the elite strap is not ...strange as i ordered both at the same time & Very said they were both dispatched to Yodel.

No it isn't showing up like a USB or similar would when plugged in but I am able to install things from sidequest onto the headset, well at least it says it all went OK at the end of the process.

Have you installed the Oculus PC software? I did that, then once into the Oculus home (PC version, tethered by USB), I ran SteamVR in that and it took over.

Yes I have had the oculus software on the PC since I owned the rift (now long gone) it's up to date.

I'll try unplugging the index and also launching steam from within Oculus Home.

Thats foveated rendering, I don't like it either but it's there on the Rift S too. It would work better if it had eye tracking.

Mine arrive this morning!! Haven't time to set it up right now but just took it out of the box to check it out.

It looks great, love the white colour. The controllers feel much better than the Rift S ones. Not sure if I like the recessed menu buttons though.

Will be back with more impressions when I set it all up later today.
 
Just played a bit more superhot, my quads are aching again after hiding behind tables/desks etc and dodging bullets matrix style. Then hopped into rec room and tried one of the games there (isle of pirates?) got grouped with 2 others, one silent, one kid (teen I guess) and had a bit of fun working out a few puzzles and fighting the skeletons. Couldn't play long but definitely going to try it again.

Superhot is funny when you haven't played it before.

I was looking at the people in front of me, turned around and got the shock of my life when there was this 6ft red fella standing over me :D

Yeah, a few levels now I've thought I'm good, then hear myself get shot, get back to it, turnaround and there's a guy with a shotgun behind me :D. Starting to use items to block bullets now, helps survival in some tough ones.

Just tried the Creed demo, and that was tiring, not paying full price for it though, might try the other boxing game. Also tried the beat saber demo and bought the game 5 minutes later. Now need to work out how to get custom songs installed.
 
Received the elite strap today, night and day difference in the comfort of the headset.
Nicely cradles the back of your head and super easy to adjust even for my massive noggin.

Think it's a must buy tbh

It is tempting, but I'm still determined to hold off for 3rd party stuff. Going on holiday next week, so can hold off till then, that'll be 2 weeks for accessories to come out an be reviewed.

Decided not to bother with custom songs just yet, think I've read the latest update seems to have stopped them working, and whilst beat saber haven't stopped them, with the quest 2 being more popular, it may be that music labels start to apply the pressure to them.

Did you get the one with the Battery? or just the Elite Strap?
 
Just had a Half Life Alyx session , pretty amazing so far, particularly when you're interacting with NPCs. My boundary is too damn small though, few times I've scrapped my hands of the wall lobbing a suitcase. Need to sort that out.

Seems to run fine on my 5700xt too, everything automatically set to high.

Bah, custom songs are the ONLY reason to have Beat Saber, BMBF are working on getting the newest version modded for it, and if in the future Beat Saber wants to block them, well I will just never update my Beat Saber version :p
