*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

Got the ‘fit pack’ delivered today which has the thin and wide adapters plus the light blockers.

With the one supplied on the Q2 it would fit my face but the side arms of my glasses where being squashed. With the wide adapter this is now solved.

I have the same issue with my glasses in that the standard foam squashes the side arms. The issue is that the for pack is basically half as much as a set of prescription lenses so I'm thinking I'd be as well spending the extra and just getting them instead?

The fit pack seems very expensive for what it is? I think it would make more sense of they just sold it with the larger fitting and charged half as much ~£20.

Either that or I just live with it squashing my glasses or buy another pair of thinner glass frames!

I think the extra foam inserts should have been provided with the device to be honest along with the light blockers. It’s a good alternative for glasses wearers who don’t want to go the route of prescription lenses. If you share your Q2 with other family members then taking the lense inserts out all the time would be a pain also.

Finally got my Elite Battery Strap and case from John Lewis for my 256GB Quest 2. I know I know, reports of some breaking. But with 2 year warranty from JL and face Oculus have acknowledged a potential issue, I can't imagine getting a replacement will be hard.

With that and fit pack I got the other week. All sorted now.

Also got the fit pack, helps a lot with glasses with the wide fitment. But I just got an email saying my WIDMO lenses have shipped. :)

Even with the wide fitting it doesnt feel ideal with glasses on to me.

After Oculus 2 256GB, Fit Pack, Elite Battery Strap with Case and Lens Cover... Does get considerably more expensive, £570.

Still a darn sight cheaper than what I paid for the HTC Vive when it launched though. Which I never played after a month purely due to being chained to my PC and annoyance of wires.

What made you choose WIDMO over other sites? Please let me know how you get on with them.

Maybe try selling the interfaces you don't need on the members market.

Anyone recommend some motion sickness free games whilst I wait for my VR legs to develop?

Superhot was great fun. Completed.
Beat saber doesnt interest.
Store seems quite empty....

In Death: Unchained is my favourite Quest game. Main form of locomotion is teleport, so should be motion sickness free. The free-loco it does have is very slow so may be a good way to build VR legs.

only mobile or PC too? As for mobile, off the top of my head:

If you have any nostalgia for old school gaming I really quite enjoyed pixel ripped, can all be played seated.

Moss is also a beautiful game, I never tried the quest version but on Rift it was great. Also a seated game.

Thrill of the fight will either make you fit or give you a heart attack but you do need a good space (probably 2.5mx2.5m minimum) and all movement is 1:1 so shouldn’t induce nausea.

Pistol whipped is fun and makes you feel like a gun ninja, but if you don’t like rhythm games at all you may not enjoy. It does move you through the level so might not be the best for nausea but no friends of mine that tried it had any issues. There’s always the refund option!

If PCVR is an option then there are many more games of course.

Did you actually play Beat Saber?

Because, I had no interest in it either. Thought it looked crap on any video I watched and I hate rhythm games on PC and console.

Then I got the Quest 2 and said I would Beat Saber a go. What a game, I was so wrong.

So, I suggest you try it out before writing it off.

Blaston! I got it over the weekend there and it's stupid fun.

It's basically a 1v1 multiplayer shooter where you're both stood about 4 meters away from each other on ~1.5m x ~1.5m circle platforms. You get a range of guns to fire at your opponent, while they do the same at you, but the bullets fire in slow motion, so you need to do some dodging while also trying to trap your opponent in tight dodge situations. There's no artificial movement at all, so great if you're building your VR legs.

Also, there's no microphone so don't worry, the person at the other end won't hear you almost take a heart attack after dancing about your room dodging bullets for half an hour.
