*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

If i cancel the Varity pack does that mean i still have the sky cinema movie channels ?

Am thinking of phoning them and cancelling the Variety pack & the Multiscreen

Cancel and start again lol. I don't think I'm on that great of a deal but I get £49 for everything except Cinema and Kids in 4k with multi room and at the time taking those two off only saved me single digit pounds per month.

Which reminds me my current deal is about to expire in about a months time. What's the best way to approach re-contracting now since they are under new ownership? First time I will be re-contracting under these guys.

So notice given today on a full SkyQ , fibre and phone package . Been with them for 16 years.

Been out of contract for 3 months now and my current bill is £135 a month up form £100.

Best they could offer me was £99 a month to resign for 18 months so I’ve given notice .

If they do how long would it be before they offered me any better deals ?
How the hell do you manage to get the cost up to £135

Paying £71pm (£852 per year :eek::eek:) and nothing at all even 4k

Am guessing they would expect me to pay even more if i wanted 4k  (at them) for a new box and install.. (they can get lost if they think am going pay even more on top for this)

And this had been my sky box for about the last 3 years or so as the Hard drive failed :(

You could easily get a Q 1TB upgrade for little to nothing up front and no change in package price unless you’re on an old deal?

Do you have Sky Q already? And are you getting your VAT discount on your Sky Sub?
No i don't have sky Q
and yes i think the discounts shown on my sky bill is just the VAT being taken off

Also does anyone know where the phone number is to cancel on the sky website as i can't seem to found it :o
Edit: Ok i found it "contact us on 03337590357."

I’d imagine you could probably get a 1TB Q box with little or nothing upfront over the phone.

Sky q plus extra box
Movies
Entertainment
Sport
Phone
Calls unlimited
Lone rental
Fibre unlimited

When we move think it will just be Netflix , Freeview , Prime and Now TV / Fibre . At least I’ll get true HD unlike Sky .

Oops sorry wrong quote .

That £135 now looks really cheap :p

My 60mb unlimited broadband & 25GB mobile phone data plan alone costs me £83 per month
Add my £71 for sky (with no sport, No 4k, No sky Q, No VAT )

£83 + £71 = £154 per month :(

I’ve cancelled mine, got email confirmation stating it has been put through also when I login to my account it has “your cancellation” to state about the boxes needing to be returned etc.. but under future bills it still shows sky sports compete pack for £20. Is that normal or do I need to contact them again?

Wow.

My virgin media 600Mb broadband, unlimited sim card and all TV channels inc sports is £79 a month :D

I've checked my future bills and it's rising by £5.30

£75.70 up to £81 so that's an increase of just over 7%

Considering I don't have movies, sports that's an insane increase for barely any no better content.

I've noticed my future bills are higher, are these rises enough to get out of a contract? We have VM being connected soon so I will be taking their top package as it actually works out cheaper (for 18 months at least).

Edit, seems not for TV only. Annoying.

MSE says:
Still in your minimum term for a Sky TV contract? Unfortunately you CAN'T leave penalty-free. Sadly you don't have the right to exit your contract penalty-free as a result of these price changes. Sky says this is because the terms and conditions for TV packages are different to those for broadband and phone packages - ie, you may have been warned that prices could rise.

However if you're unhappy about the change it may still be worth trying to haggle with Sky (see more on this below). And some TV add-ons may have a rolling monthly contract, in which case you can remove them from your Sky package to avoid the hikes and cut costs

Well I've just managed to cancel the SKY Q Multiscreen, not using it anyway at the moment. So that will save me £14/£15 a month and then I will cancel the full package come June.
