They would need the permission from the club's IN the premier League which they would prob get.

The FA also needs to approve any competition a club plays is. It's clear there's going to be huge pressure from UEFA and likely FIFA to stop the affected FA's giving that approval.

If clubs are made to pick between domestic league or this I can't see the English clubs picking the Super League, it would kill their home following.

Perhaps champs league qualification should be based more on uefa co-efficients than just finishing third or fourth.

Say like a champion from each league followed by the next 20 or so teams in the top CE rankings.

I simply quoted the latest one, there are plenty to choose from I don't agree with everything G Neville says but he speaks a lot of truth around this. Might be worth rewatching what he said and listen to it without the Liverpool glasses on as I said.

From my perspective remove the 'closed shop' aspect of it and allow promotion & relegation from it in some form then on the face of it I'm not seeing too much difference

This has gone on and goes on at every level for years and years. I've banged on about it for the past 10 months now - we have parachute payments to protect the bottom of the PL, when project restart was being negotiated we had the smallest PL sides trying to block relegations and promotions to the PL to protect themselves, when talk of bailouts for the EFL were being discussed none of the (small) PL sides wanted to give a penny to the Championship. Everybody wants a closed shop, just only to those below them.

I don't disagree with some of the points here - I think the PL has a responsibility to share the wealth with the lower leagues that it's currently failing to do. But even taking into account parachute payments, we've seen over 20 different clubs promoted to the PL in the last 10 seasons, so it can't be that much of a closed shop - this ESL appears to be completely different.

No chance, isn't this what happened last year, no majority vote for the 6 clubs and it all died down until now.

But even taking into account parachute payments, we've seen over 20 different clubs promoted to the PL in the last 10 seasons, so it can't be that much of a closed shop - this ESL appears to be completely different.

The last sentence there is the big one.

If for whatever reason one of the big 6 squads totally implode, they could be relegated from the PL (realistically this wouldn't happen). This new (15 founders never get to leave) leagues rule sits so badly with me.

To me, it would depend of the other 14 teams getting assurances that the big six are not gonna play the B team on weekends because if they are, they might as well not be there.

I don't dislike him at all but he's a massive hypocrite who's reaction was completely over the top.

Its a really tricky topic because fandamentally football became almost entirely about money years ago. When you are paying hundreds of millions for players, paying them half a million a week to play and the top is very much the same year after year based mainly on club wealth, you can't argue its not money driven.

When you allow oil countries to finance clubs, when you allow leveraged takeovers of clubs, when short term monetary success is all owners care about, its about the money.

This all smacks a little of Lewis Hamilton in F1 for me. There is only so much I can listen to someone preach to me about anything moralistic when they are fantastically wealthy and represent the very thing they claim to abhor.

FIFA is corrupt as hell, has been taking bribes for years, has/is taking the WC to places they shouldn't be entirely for monetary reasons. I guess my opinion is mainly coming from a fans perspective and a super-league is bad for the fans of almost every team apart from from those in it.

That being said, few clubs at the top of the game give a single **** about their fans beyond their desire to dip into their wallets so why would they care about them.

According to what's been said by "the super league" they will still play in the domestic league.

I'm still not for it even if that turns out to be the case

The domestic leagues will end up like the league cup with the teams fielding their second and third teams.
