The New European Super (borefest) League

Not being a member of ECA technically means as a football club you don't recognise UEFA as the governing body for European football therefore they should face immediate expulsion from UEFA competitions.
Where have you read this? The ECA is not part of UEFA, it's an organisation representing clubs that is recognised by UEFA - it was formed to replace the old G14 thing.

and:

In the ECA - UEFA memorandum about the relationship between clubs represented by ECA and UEFA. If they're not a member of ECA they'd have to reach an individual agreement with UEFA.

UEFAs own Statutes also state things such as.

Article 49

UEFA shall have the sole jurisdiction to organise or abolish international competitions in Europe in which Member Associations and or their clubs participate.

Article 51

No combinations or alliances between UEFA Member Associations or between leagues or clubs affiliated, directly or indirectly to different UEFA Member Associations may be formed without the permission of UEFA.

There's also a whole section about recognising the statutes.

Article 59

Each Member Association shall include in its statutes a provision whereby it, its leagues, clubs, players and officials agree to respect at all times the Statutes, regulations and decisions of
UEFA, and to recognise the jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland), as provided in the present Statutes.

Each Member Association shall ensure that its leagues, clubs, players and officials acknowledge and accept these obligations.

Each participant in a UEFA competition shall, when registering its entry, confirm to UEFA in writing that it, its players and officials have acknowledged and accepted these obligations.

None of that says not being a member of the ECA means you cannot compete in UEFA competitions. Loads of clubs aren't members of the ECA.

edit: just to follow up on the above, Granada are not members of the ECA however they were in the Europa League this season. Wolves are not members of the ECA and they were in last seasons Europa. There's no requirement to be members of the ECA to play in UEFA competitions. Somebody has made something up on twitter and loads of people have copied it beleiving it to be true.

Looks like the end of normal football as well. Just another aspect of life that is being sucked away from the "average day people". Elitism, power and money sucking the soul out of everything.

I kind of half given up on football a few year back, but I do still love football it is still my no1 sport I follow. But this is probably the end if it continues, I don't support any of these clubs so really probably won't affect me. I would probably refuse to watch any of it. I'll continue watching the rubbish local town club I live by whenever fans are allowed anywhere near football.

Jürgen Klopp in 2019: "I hope this Super League will never happen... Why should we create a system where Liverpool faces Real Madrid for 10 straight years?

"Who wants to see that every year?”

I hope he comes out a slams this complelty, it seems this may go ahead and isn't just a power play by the clubs either.

Terrible system! Then again if it's true there all getting 3.5 billion shows exactly why its been done

Yeah, nothing's confirmed yet but the action should be the expulsion of all clubs involved, PSG to be awarded the Champions League and a Roma vs Villarreal Europa final.

I did wonder if the PL should turn round and say the only way clubs are doing this is by leaving the league, so with immediate effect the big 6 cease to be eligible for points and trophies. Suddenly the league title is interesting again this year.

Let's be clear here, as bad as this is, FIFA and UEFA are supposedly two of the most corrupt organisations on the planet in recent years. They deserve no slice of any pie.

Also, this may have been done with a view of what was due to be announced tomorrow, presumably more games in Europe.

There's no "supposedly" about it. Where is the world cup next year again?

Just waiting for Gary Neville to visit the stadiums and tell everyone despite the human trafficking and deaths building the stadiums we should all get behind the tournament....oh wait...he's already done that.

Regardless of what nevile has said in his past he isn't wrong about super league.

The comment he made regarding deducting points was just in his anger in the idea which was obvious.

Each clubs supporters clubs are now coming out against it too. If it goes ahead I'll be surprised

“Super league” that contains clubs that won’t be in European football next season. Seems legit.

**** league it should be called. Let’s see if UEFA/FIFA etc have the balls to follow through with their threats. I doubt it.

Having said that I still don’t think it’ll happen. Too much backlash.
