*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Phone. The live chat people know nothing. The guy on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about when I said I had a letter through the door.

Your math is on the money. Would be £4 for HD on top and because you have multiroom you wouldn't have to pay £2 for UHD which is free so £53.
Will look at doing that over the next few days. Another live chat and another 'The best deal is still £61' with the following message.

The maximum discount has been applied for this offer. Offers are point of contact meaning that the offer i have given you today is not likely to be available if you change your mind in the future, These offers will not get any deeper in the future but likely get more expensive due to offers being point of contact. Please keep this in mind going forward, these discounts will not get deeper.

Trying to decide between Sky tv and Virgin Media, both coming out the same price roughly but my internet is with VM.

Even though I’ll be a new customer with Sky the deals aren’t amazing anymore.

Sky is £50 a month and VM is £48 but for that you get the BT Sport channels included but there’s no mention of UHD unless it just comes as standard where available.

I’m already paying £62 a month for the Gig1 internet, adding the tv package with VM takes it to £108 a month and £112 a month with sky but the benefit being it’s all under one package rather than paying out to both.

The only concern is with the VM boxes, do they run off the internet so if my router packs up, does the tv package stop working?

You can get better deals with Sky as a new customer.

The Q box is superior to VM’s box and if sport is your thing you get their channels in UHD.

Guessing I’ll either have to phone or do the live chat with Sky to see what they can offer.

I won’t be using their BB though, just after the TV.

You do know that you can speak to VM and they may offer you their package deal as an existing customer? The Ultimate Volt Bundle at £85, it has the 1Gig BB, all the TV channels inc. sports (inc BT in UHD) and movies, Unlimited Mobile O2 5G SIM (inc O2 extra for 6 months Disney+/Amazon Music/Audible etc.) , Netflix standard, a home phone line with unlimited calling.

It's worth telling them you are looking at a Sky deal, and you'd like to see what they will do for you.

Yeah I’ll get onto VM too when I get the chance.

I’d be happy with the above deal although I don’t need the 02 sim deal as I’m happy with the deal EE offer.

It's hardly a bad deal if it is included as part of the package though, given you are already paying £65 or whatever just for the 1Gig. you could always give it to a family member for like £5 per month or free if you are generous.

Yeah I’d end up giving it away as I’m happy with EE.

I've got this one, but only pay £64 a month as I phoned O2 and told them I didn't need the sim as I'm an existing O2 customer. I told them the salesperson had told me I could just switch my O2 contract over.

Perfect, I’ll start a conversation with you. :)

It's £87 for the entire package with the max broadband, UHD, sports movies, netflix etc. Just doesn't come with multi room if want that will be a bit more. Just did it myself but can only get max 150mbps broadband here, so total cost was £77. Beats what they wanted for a renewal at £138 :s
