*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

If you are wanting to cancel Sky highly recommend ringing to do so. Live chat I was left waiting for 7 hours

Even the guy on the phone was laughing at that. Sky really have dropped the ball in recent years. Shame as there was a time when they were brilliant.

I’ve always found live chat useless. Calling is always better, if I’m waiting more then 10 mins I just hang up and try later on. Obviously they are busy at certain times but I try to ring during working hours as evenings and weekends are useless.

Wow! You actually hung on for 7 hours? That is true, there was a time they had instant great customer service and people that were efficient.

Turned out to be £53 a month for Sky Signature / Sports / Netflix / HD / UHD / Multiroom with first 2 months £48 a month (2 months free Netflix) + £10 set up fee. Considering I was going to be paying £30 a month for Now TV Sports + Boost and £16 a month for Netflix in Sky's absence... not bad. Quite a discount vs the £63.50 a month I was paying before (albeit I lose Sky kids which we found our kid never used).
Thanks for this. I'm on a similar package (Kids is on mine too) and the best I've had so far is £61

They sent a letter after we cancelled which had this deal on it
Letter in the post today.

Sky Signature and Sports - £33
Signature + Netlfix (Think this is just the Netlfix addon) - £5
Multiscreen - £11
Ultra HD - £2

So £51 but it's also missing Kids - assuming that would be £6 - so £57.

Spoke to someone online after uploading the photos of the letter and they're not budging from the £61.

Sky Signature - £19 (18 Month contract) Full price £32
Sky HD - £4 (18 Months) Full price £8
Sky UHD - £4
Sky Ultimate TV add on - £6 (18 Months) Full Price £6
Sky Multiscreen - £11 (18 Months) Full price £15
Sky Kids - £3 (18 Months) Full Price £6
Sky Sports Complete package - £14 (without cinema and 18 Month contract) Full price £32

Ultra HD is £2 if I don't take multiscreen, but it doesn't say that on the letter. Just says mix and match your perfect package - and no reference in the terms at the bottom.

Tried telling me how it should be £103 a month and I'll be saving over £775. Just said, who actually pays the full monthly price?

Told them to carry on with the cancellation. They can't even honour prices on printed media!

Phone. The live chat people know nothing. The guy on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about when I said I had a letter through the door.

Your math is on the money. Would be £4 for HD on top and because you have multiroom you wouldn't have to pay £2 for UHD which is free so £53.

Don’t use use online chat, I called this number 0333 759 4756. It was a win me back offer and it’s was very good. Might actually have to leave to call them but I always get better deals over the phone.

I guess it's folks own money so they can make their own choices. However, unless you literally can't get decent broadband, I just don't understand how in a world of Netflix/Prime/BT Sport/etc that anyone could justify those kind of monthly/annual subscription costs for television content in 2022!

I've been free of Sky TV for over a month now and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!

I would ditch it if wasn’t for the football, still the best option for that.

Football and F1 in 4k. Would have still cost £30 a month to get both in hd on now TV at the time (now costs a bit more) plus Netflix 4k is £16 a month so I would have been paying £46 a month anyway without sky. Instead I am paying slightly more (£53 a month) to get 4k sports and multiroom but would've ended up cheaper at £44 a month if I didn't have multiroom.
