NVIDIA 4000 Series

I'd keep the TUF every day of the week!
Runs well saved me needing to upgrade PSU as well so £450 saving. Still getting decent results and not as big as the tuf which means I can keep my pcie slot below it useable as I've a spare sata card in there.

Considering the potential overclocking ability and what that actually translates into FPS with the extra power used I think these cards with the massive coolers are limited in really pushing them unless you are a true hardcore overclocker, which I am not

They’ve been hoarding them for months, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had hundreds of thousands of the things in a big warehouse somewhere.

Remember the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark? Maybe not that many but the whole situation of availability is Nvidia BS to clear the 30 series.

I’m 100% positive that if they wanted to the 4090FE would still be showing in stock right now.
You never know but I doubt it. Sales matter and if they have a huge warehouse of them then it'd make sense to bombard all 30 series owners with the direct offer as no 30 series owners are going to buy another 30 series GPU :).

I find a 3080 still good for my uses except for one thing. The damn VRAM. Even at 1440P I see the "low on vram warning" in Farcry 6 with the high res pack. That's my complaint about the 30 series - the early 3080 customers who got stitched up with the low vram :D

Not heard of this before.

huh? i thought 30 and 40 series driver are totally different? like the tech n stuff

my current driver is like 4 months old, so not the latest

No, both series use the same drivers.

If I end up with one I’ll just swap the cards as I tend to keep up with the latest driver releases anyway.

Removed a 2080Ti and installed a 3090FE without any need to do anything else in the past. Zero problems.

You say that but isn’t that exactly what they’ve started doing?

Think the last couple of people that said they received invites both have 30 series cards.

I’ve currently got a 3090FE but I’ve not received an invite yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one turns up eventually.

If someone can test on 4090 Quake 2 rtx with raytracing on 1440P and 4K i will be greatful for fps info . :) I am playing this on 3090 ti and 1440P and its smooth ,get 100-120fps. But of course wanna know what fps will be on 4090. On youtube nobody i cant find :) thank you so much.

Yeah thats my experience with far cry 6 also. I'd want at least 12gb.

Received the invite yesterday, but as I play at 1440p, single player games, the 3080 12GB should last for a while.
Haven’t been following the release as I did for 3000 series, but I was expecting to see plenty of stock available from day one.
What Jay said about Nvidia “correcting” the market makes sense. Only hopes it backfires.
Nvidia wants to keep living in mining/pandemic times. Cost of living and energy prices now, hard to believe that.
