The Gudjohnsen deal feels a bit better now, apparently he's on £40k/week at Stoke, Fulham are paying £10k, and Gudjohnsen is paying another £10k himself - and his style suits us, so hopefully becomes quite a cheap deal overall.. Not too bad of a window to get Sidwell/Gudjohnsen for near enough free.

And if he choose Poulsen to play ever we'd slaughter him because Poulsen was woeful, he's actually been reasonably decent under kenny, little of the pace somtimes and rash challenges, Sorry for not trusting the owl against the King.
But had Torres gone it was in no way Hodgsons fault imo, prolly got a severe amount of tapping up and getting fed the **** up with promises.

Ah yeah, I see. Well, players are bought on existing and potential performance and Carroll has been immense this season. I do think 35 million is a helluva lot and a big risk, but if he keeps his workrate up I can see it being worth it.
For £35m you want a striker who will come in, score 25-30 in his first season and then get about the same every season until he leaves/gets old. I'm not a fortune teller but I don't think that is Andy Carroll now or ever.

He'll be on 40k at Stoke and they are only willing to keep paying £20k when he is out on loan. Fulham only willing to pay £10k to Stoke so he pays back £10k himself to make up the shortfall.
