Considering Neville's career, and England career, not particularly unfair to have a thread to talk about him specifically.

Always feel Utd fans are WAY to harsh on him, he's old and has had serious/severe injurys over the past 2 years. Its hard to come back and play 90mins if you're 20-30 and making a comeback after 2 years, let alone at whatever the heck he is, 35-36 I assume.

Yeah he's made mistakes but when he was fit and playing well, he was a great right back and great going forwards. Sure he was no Bale going forwards(but then bale was rubbish as a left back), but his partnership with Beckham was key to many titles, he's got a ridiculously good cross, maybe the best crosser of any fullback ever and despite lack of pace, height he took on the worlds best left wingers and had most of them in his pocket. Faster, taller, stronger players have done less well.

I've never really seen the sense in hating him for celebrating like a madman when his team wins, celebrating near liverpool fans, boo hoo, if he had gone from Liverpool to Utd and run the length of the pitch to do so, maybe, anything else, meh.

Awful tache, spiteful guy whose personality on the pitch does make you want to punch him in the face, but a great player, and off the pitch supposedly a great professional, does a lot of work for the players association and charity work.

Its a shame he ended his career with injury and bad form to be honest. Had he retired 2 years ago Utd fans would never have complained.

Personally I would(if a utd fan) find Giggs far more frustrating, Neville despite no monatary reason to do so is killing himself to get fit and offer something to the team. Giggs seems utterly crap for 11 months till a new contract is up for grabs, plays well for a month, then dissappears for another 11 months.

It's being discussed in here, I don't see the point for a thread that is only going to end up as an argument between United and Liverpool fans.
 
Fergie was saying something about how Neville acts as an agent for the kids at MU and he advises them on what to do with contracts and how to invest their money.

He gets a lot of stick does old Nev but every team in the county would want someone as passionate and hard working as Neville.
