Might as well tell you the deal i got. I'm with Vodafone and thought their new deals were expensive so i called customer services to cancel my contract. The fella said he could do a better deal than all the shops and i ended up getting the M8 with unlimited everything on 4g for £27 a month on an 18 month contract. I'm happy with that.

I'd be happy with that deal and it's only 18 months - result!

I recently left Vodafone as the signal is poor here in Cardiff, I've now gone a a rolling 1 month contract with 3 and not had a problem with no signal. In all fairness to Vodafone they did me some cracking deals over the years and some of them they couldn't have made any profit on. But there's no point in having a cheap contract if you can't get a good enough signal to use the phone.
 
Just bought the Case-Mate Tough Case as I wanted top and bottom protection.

On my S3 the paint had flaked away on these areas, hopefully I can prevent it this time :)

I'll post pics once it's arrived. My Nillkin case might be going spare if anyone fancies it?
 
Just replaced my M8 - the power button on my first one was loose and rattled. Sounded like something broke inside :(

New one is a lighter, more silvery, grey colour than the first. Noticed there's a whole thread about it on XDA. Also it drains the battery MUCH more quickly despite having fewer apps installed and all the settings the same :(
 
It's a shame the quality control is not better with the m8s.

I have an m7 and I love it, it's the best phone I've owned. It took 4 to get one with a working camera though. If they'd have sorted it with the m8 I'd have jumped on the m9 but now I'm not so sure.
 
My CaseMate Tough case arrived today, and it's awesome. It's made up from two cases, an inner rubber case and an outer hard shell. The fit is perfect, it has decent grip, and the power/volume buttons are really responsive.

It's not the cheapest case (I paid £18), but it's one of the few decent ones I could find that had top and bottom protection.

So here's a question for you - if you use the voice dial motion launch, what screen do you see when the phone wakes?

My first M8 showed a black screen with a green microphone and asked out loud who I'd like to call.

my second shows my normal desktop wallpaper with a white - almost transparent - mike where the pattern lock would normally be, and there's no voice asking me to speak a name.

What do you see? Any ideas why two handsets might be different?
 
Very close to getting this phone.

Been between a S5 and M8 for a good week now. I think getting the Galaxy tablet through work sealed it for me as I fancy a different type of look (yet staying on android).

Quite funny that I stayed with Apple for years until I got given the Sammy tablet. Dropping iOS like a bad habbit. Even getting my work phone changed to an Android when our contract is up. Stuck with a Windows phone for the moment

Just swapped my S5 with M8, I have to say I am pleased. Build quality is phenomenal.

There's something that I don't like about Samsung, I really tried hard with the S5 but was unable to stand it for over a week.
