*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Just flashing it now, successfully I hope! I had to grab my CID/MID and update the text file in the ROM.zip as it wasn't listed!

I ended up using Xposed and Gravitybox. Really impressed with it. Hadn't used it before because the previous aosp roms I used had most of the features it offers baked in.

If you're into Google Now, check out the Google Now Launcher with the GELS xposed extension. Lets you tweak it a bit.

I've stuck with Nova though, works perfectly and can be customized lots :)

Nova launcher looks good, never tried Google Now and from what I can see it's nothing special.

edit: scary moment when trying to boot philz recovery again, black screen! Power button and volume up to the rescue. Had a quick google and it seems I need to flash stock recovery again?

This "prime" craze is a bit weird iyam, I'm intrigued to see the prices, if the internal tech is improving I'd rather see bi annual releases of flag ships as the specs can increase rather than a prime edition with a bit more polish and higher specs.

Well I'm not really fussed about my rear camera, I rarely used it on my iPhone 5, I'm sure the M8 will suit me. I have my DSLR for when intend taking good photos!

I think the Prime is just going to fill the same spot as the Max version from last year.

More on the lens getting foggy/soft pics issue I mentioned here (ignore the cracked lens people):
http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m8/380522-htc-one-m8-camera-lens-cover-issue.html

It reminds me of when I had my HTC Desire, the lens cover coating easily became scratched/worn and pictures went wooly. At least with the Desire you could easily replace the whole back including the lens though. I've compared pictures to a brand new M8 and the difference is night and day.

Might be worth getting a lens cover/protector. Nillkin look to do a screen and lens pack for about £10

I may invest :(

Loving my new M8. One thing though, what does the icon mean next to the wifi symbol?
