A very warm foldy welcome to the nuthouse...

If you haven't done so already then why not check out the Folding@Home Setup Guide and the Quickie Guide for more foldy-tastic tips especially for when you're in a rush

An amazing week of production considering the heat - way to go team!
Even in only 6 days we have beaten our production for the last full week!
Apologies for the 6-day news, as I'm planning on having a few busy weekends throughout the summer I'm hoping nobody will mind if I move the news to Thursday nights for the foreseeable future
Sorry anyone who's not been mentioned - you know what to do now :)

summer + exams + overclock + 12-16c temp rise = computers unstable, room very hot and an irritated 16 year old.

*unleashes rage*

Great work again Rich. Nice one for still doing the summary despite being away on the usual day.

Gotta wait 8 days for the next one now! :o

Summer Temps are impacting on my folding as well but not as badly as for some people it seems. I don't think i will get back to over 1000 points per 24hrs till it cools down. Think im going to settle at around 800. Ah well... FOLD ON :D

Well having got the A/C hooked up expect more than 2k a week soon.
Will soon have my 3200+ back and an old 2600+ :)

Will be upgrading them with better and quieter heatsinks and fans seeing if i can squeeze maybe 100 mhz extra out of them then will be leaving them in the cool of the computer room to get on with it :D

This week was quite good considering I haven't been home most of the time and therefore most of my computers have been off.
35th in the top dumpers and SB (borg) was 3rd in the single core crunchers which I'm amazed at for a completely stock 64 3000+

Hupwards I go :D

no you don't - I'm gonna start doing it on Thursday nights as a regular thing as I have a few active weekends planned for the summer and it'll save having to mess everyone around with 6/8 day weeks
it'll also hide the fact I don't have anything better to do with my friday nights :p

Well fans are running so hard that I can't even hear the music I'm currently playing, but all stilll stable thus far ;)

And I finally beat a dual core! Although yet another dual has crept in above me so i'm still p5 :(

Cheers for the stats Rich.

Don't understand that??

I had 1400 last week, yet only 386 this week !!!

according to your EOC Stats you've not dumped anything for the last few days, fire up FahMon or open your log file to see if you're working on a beast or if there's anything wrong

plus it was only 6 days rather than a week and with large WUs on a single machine you're likely to have one good week and then one bad week as they can take several days even on a fast machine

A much better week this week.

Anyone who's having heat problems or noise problems, either post in the overclocking and cooling forum or post in here and i might be able to help.
The standard response is usually Scythe Ninja and 38mm Panaflos, depending on what you've already got.
I've also found that making a duct out of some spare plastic between the ninja and the rear panaflo made a noticeble difference.

mate, im running a pa120.3 on my x2 and a pa120.2 on my p-d, i dont think aircooling is going to be better. :)

On a side note, i went to B&Q today and ordered a 12,000 btu air conditioner to keep me and the comps cool & pollen free :D
Will be delivered tomorrow as the rs6 is a saloooooooooon and doesnt have enough space. :( :o

Your probably right ;)
Good call on the aircon unit.
I'm still toying with the idea of making my own using a pelt. Watercooling is too expensive so i'm looking at putting an xp120 on each side and ducting the hot side out the window.
I'll use a cheap pc psu to power it.
The only problem is i can't really use a heatsink with heatpipes on the cold side because it will probably be below their working temperature. I'm looking at the xp 120 because it seems to be the only 120mm fan heatsink with the fins attached directly to the base rather than via a heatpipe but i'm not sure how well it will work.
