Didn't say i understand why they did it
Feel good post of the day.https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-N...-GA104-GPU-and-6-144-CUDA-cores.508157.0.html
So a mobile 3080 will have 16gb vram lol? And they gave us only 10gb on their flagship.
Its gddr6 though so that is how they are cutting costs but still kinda stings...
I wish it was on the deskop 3080 too...

3080 20gb is back lol... if its like $800 or something im buying this.. The only way for them to do something like this is to do 20gb of gddr6 instead of gddr6x to save costs and if they use normal g6 they might even be able to discontinue the 10gb model and do a $700 3080 20gb gddr6 who knows
If its gddr6x 20gb its gonna be expensive
No need. It does not need more than 10GB at maximum settings. Simple as that. As it has been mentioned many times, the 3080 runs out of grunt before it does vram.No one has updated this thread since Cyberpunks release?
it has reduced lod, some rubbish textures outside ~10m and serious pop in.
it pushes the limits in some areas but is lacking in others. kind of a mixed bag.

The two guys who went on and on about 10gb not being enough have gone on to purchase a 3080, so yeah, that is why the thread is dead.
Reduced from 2020 standards to 2010..."Reduced" LOD? Reduced from what?
Forgive me if I do not take your word for it. Give me a few links showing me this. I have not seen my vram counter go much past 9gb. Could be because I use DLSS though I guess. But then again the settings you mentioned are not playable at 4K without DLSS anyway, so a moot point.Actually - tests show that at 4k with Ray Tracing on the game uses 10gb vram - ok for the 3080 but enough to kill the 3070. Performance is still affected though - minimum framerates on Te 3090 is up to 45% higher than the 3080 with Ultra ray tracing at 4k
The only VRAM thing I've seen recently for Cyberpunk is this - https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/cyberpunk-2077-pc-graphics-perf-benchmark-review,4.html - and it basically shows that 8GB, in my eyes is not enough, if you play with all the bells and whistles. So it's good that AMD have 16GB as a minimum on their cards; just a shame there is no RT ability yet. So as long as you have 10GB and above I think people will be OK. Hope the link is useful.
EDIT: However it does raise the question if this is just one of the latest titles to use over 8GB and touching 10GB VRAM... what games could emerge that need more than 10GB down the road during the lifetime of the 3070 / 3080? People may keep a GPU for 2-3 years. It could be possible that we find 10GB isn't enough sooner than expected.
Just checking are you talking about the PC version of the game?it has reduced lod, some rubbish textures outside ~10m and serious pop in.

Yes that is my experience of playing it on PC.Just checking are you talking about the PC version of the game?
Whilst 10GB might technically be enough, it does seem inherently wrong to have anything less than 16GB at these kind of prices.
I'm just trying to connect a few dots.Yes that is my experience of playing it on PC.

It's never safe to assume anything .I'm just trying to connect a few dots.
Is this something you see constantly or after moving quickly (example driving a car)?
Does this happen when outside, inside or both?
What graphics settings are you running at?
Is it safe to assume that rig in your sig is what you are using?
I watched a walkthrough of someone using a 3090 in some of the areas I experienced this (not recommended for spoiler reasons obviously) and it was the same for him.
I posted a video in one of the other threads of indoor pop in of a manikin. There is a set distance (not very far) at which details are removed from the game.
Very true. It's never safe to assume anything .
