Got the Ubisoft free trial last night, but Farcry never finished downloading in time. Trying to get the download restarted now to have a play later, but it is just stuck at initialising download. Must be out of vRAM.

We don't bother with the Y-fronts up here, it allows us to use the excuse 'it must be the cold' more often

The reality is that being a 24/7 carer I really only get to work during the night, which is fine as I've always had problems sleeping. Last night was VAT return, problem solving some WiFi Direct code and Norton's Data Protect reaching parts that it's FAQ says it won't.

Rest of the sensible people understood that at the price point the 3080 FE was it was a bargain and it took two years for a handful of titles (if that) to show up where you run out of vram in certain scenarios. People reading your posts would think the said games won’t even boot up unless you have 24GB epeen vram available :cry:

One could say the conclusion was that the 3080 runs out of performance before it does vram

The only people that care about 3080FE's VRAM are those that didn't manage to grab one.

Oh and you know what was a slam dunk? Buying it for under £600 (got the fe and sold codes) and selling it on to CEX for £1620. Now that sir was a slam dunk

Well, I got round to Far Cry 6 at 3840 x 1600 and 10GB seems fine, for the benchmark at least. Not sure how to best post the results on here, but as a summary:

Average 76fps
Maximum 87 fps
Minimum 69 fps

Ultra quality, TAA on and HD textures used. For me, 10GB is enough! I'll run the benchmark on a 4k screen tomorrow to see how it compares as Mrs Turnip is watching a series this evening.
