£74inc postage for a 5670? is that a good deal?
Think that's as cheap as I have ever seen one, is there more than one available?

I'm struggling to get my 5650 stable above 3.5 . I do a cinebench run and I get bsod when temps are only 50 c with core voltage at 1.34 . yet when I leave cpu turbo on I get 4.177 mz on a 1 meg run so I think the chip is good for 4gz just not sure what to do next .
So any idea on overclocking? I kept my i7 920 at stock for its life (criminal I know!).
Got a rampage II and 6gb of DDR3 1600mhz (with a newly installed 5650).
Any easy guides? Don't need anything major, just curious more than anything.
Ill look after it for you mate
I cannot believe how hard it is to get hold of a 1366 mobo . And yeah thanks for not bumping the price up, im sure there will be more cpu's available...
Cheers chaps, thats really useful info.
Hi
TLDR:
i. will these chips work in a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
ii. performance vs. an i7 920 @ 4.2 and vs. a 4790K @ 4.5-4.7 ish?
I have a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R which if I recall was toward the mid-budget end at the time. i7 920 running at 4.2ghz (Noctua D14) mainly used for iRacing at the moment and for more gaming once I get my graphics cards updated (2x GTX 670 at the moment which doesn't quite cut it at 2560x1440).
Will these Xeon's work in the board? The website says "supports new generation Intel 32nm 6-core processors" which looks positive, can't see a BIOS update post 2012 though!
I was planning to get a 4790K and board deal for c£350 and some new RAM and was assuming 4.7ghz would be doable. This looks like it might be a more cost effective way of getting close to that performance for a lot less though?

on air cooler, don't forget that it is a 32nm chip and also require less voltage to get 4.4 compared to 920.It looks like the 5650 would cost around 70 quid and I could sell my 920 for about 35 quid so a fairly cheap upgrade if it all works okay!
My system is currently stable at 200x21 would it just be a case of trying to replicate that or would multiplier issues mean I'd have to achieve a higher stable bclk to get to 4.2?
Assume everyone at 4.4 is on water?
I have a xeon 5670 running in my x58a-ud3r (revision 1) @4.4GHz. I think I read that someone else got it working on revision 2 board so it should work on your board.
