14th Gen "Raptor Lake Refresh"

What engine is the last of us using?
No idea but some people think it’s literally emulating ps5.
the compressed files are the same format that ps5 is using only ps5 is decompressing them in hardware where pc is using cpu for that.

I mean you said yourself it does stutter for you in places despite framerate being high.
im having the same issue on my 5800X.

I've only experienced it at that one area not experienced it since and since updated to latest patch 1.0.2.0

isnt this meant to be one of the demanding areas ? I think this is where HUB tested ? been playing for over an hour and its been pretty much smooth no big dips etc 3080 preset high (no dlss) 1440p

Ouch, that said 40 fps is probably fine for this type of game.

Maybe for gpu it is but for me is stutters inside buildings and never outside.

not had any inside since
How far in the game are you as I’m close to the end of the game on my second playthrough already.? There is at least one more stuttery spot in the game like the one that was stuttering for you.
It‘ hard for me to say as the game stutters inside buildings for me almost all the time.

The problem with the game is that frametime is all over the place so it stutters even with high fps.
I wouldn’t mind playing it at consistent 60 but even when locking it at that it’s really bad.
Like with everything some people are more sensitive than others, I can see even slightest microstutter but learned to live and ignore it but in some games it’s just too much.
Also playing on an oled screen with instantaneous pixel responder time even the smallest stutters are visible where on lcd it’s somewhat hidden.

Sounds like a great advert for the PlayStation.

I was actually almost excited then. A PC game genuinely bringing a 4090 and 32 thread chip to its knees should be a sight to behold.

Gpu wise no it’s not anywhere as heavy as some other games especially with ray tracing, cpu usage though it’s something else.

It’s likely a graphics API/driver issue. Nvidia driver hamming the system for something or other.

Will likely improve with updates.

Yup look’s fine but the video is only 30fps so it’s hard to tell. FPS is certainly very high. Could you upload another one this time with frametime graph.?
Thanks.
You can see the frametimes next to the average fps I think, not a graph just the number. But sure I'll upload one with a graph
