2008 Canadian Grand Prix - Race 7/18

Yes. Am I being sarcastic or truthful? You decide.

I don't understand why people call Hamilton the Messiah, he never calls himself that so why should anyone else. It seems people say it out of spite most of the times.

Anyway it's all been wrapped up with a 10 place deduction. You lot got your wish that a British driver get's penalised, patriotism is truly dead here...

so....

you are caught doing 100mph on a motorway. The copper pulls you over and you say

"you cant ban me, im British"

:rolleyes::p

Why wasn't Kimi punished for racing in the Pit Lane?
Side by side in the pit lane has been punished before.

Has it? Cant recall.

On another note:

BBC said:
When the pit lane reopened two laps later, Hamilton took on board enough fuel to see him through to the end of the race.

Er? To the end? They pitted on lap lap 17 and it was a 70 lap race (i.e. another 53 laps). Doubtful.

Too be honest the stewards did right. Safety first. Driving down a pit lane not actually taking note of what is going on is down right dangerous.

Well he did take on a lot of fuel. Around 8-9 seconds worth. So if it wasnt all the way it had to be a very long middle stint.

it may also be because he was almost empty in the first place, where as the rest still had fuel onboard so only needed a top up? (and hence some didnt even bother stopping)

we will never know anyway.

Errrr this is a race track I am referring to. 100mph is legal on a race track, not on the motorway. Clutching at straws now I think...

Granted, but highly unlikely for Mclaren to switch him to a 1 stop when the SC has already been out once during the race (i.e had the SC not come out, perhaps switching to 1 stop might be a good idea since an SC would bunch up the field and eraicate any defecit Hamilton had to the front runners).

If Hamilton was that fat on fuel, it would've weighed him down really badly.

Something doesnt sound right tbh.

Martin Whitmarsh has said he was due to come in early a few laps later than when the SC was deployed, although he had enough fuel for a few laps more it was in preparation for a possible SC outing.

It does seem as though LH lost his cool and wasn't paying enough attention to his radio and the pit lights - I think the grid drop for Magny Cours is reasonably fair - wasn't Barichello disqualified earlier this year for the same thing?

I'm guessing McLaren's tactic for France will be to try and get Heikki up near the front and bunch the pack up? I'll be there to watch it so it could be interesting :)

your the one clutching at straws. you dont think they should punish him because hes british and you think they are helping ferrari... i mean what the hell?

They both missed a red light, and both got punished. Get over yourself.

Oooh very good point there Overlag, forgot that.
Infact, Raikonnen was out of his pits fairly sharpish wasnt he.

Id say Raikonnen was the fatest out of the top 3. Would make sense when you think about it in terms of qualifying pace.

It wont be as easy as you think.

Hamilton isnt too great when he has to come from behind. This is the part of his racing skill that he must work on. In comparison, MS was supreme when coming from behind.

If anything you should have said overtaking at France is very hard. But as you have stated Hamilton isn't very good at moving up the field then you are wrong. Last year in Brazil. Last (with a large gap to second to last) to 7th in a race where he had to go through the pits three times without his pit limiter. GP2 in Turkey he was awesome (no other word for it) coming from 18th to 2nd. Yes MS was good but to say Hamilton isn't shows you should be writing tabloid journalism.

aye, tank up just incase more SC's come out later in race. Gotta cover yourself :)

to be honest i dont think Hamilton will suffer much at france. Quali on pole with light load. Race through pack, then pit early and do long middle stint it wouldnt suprise me if hes in top 3 by the end of it all.

what engine is he on? 2nd race or 1st?

Oh dear I did not share the same opinion you did, my views differ from yours. I think taking himself out of the race was bad enough Hamilton for what was clearly mistake. You thought otherwise.

Perhaps I'll be a sheep next time and agree with master Overlag....yeah. You need to get over yourself.

so you dont think they should get punished?

Is anyone else getting bored of this type of argument. Hamilton ignored a red light and caused an avoidable accident, and got punished for it. Fairs Fair.

For all of you going "ZOMG HES ONLY GOT IT COS HES IN A MCLAREN THE FIA ARE BIAS BLAH BLAH BLAH" - Rosberg has got a penalty too... what have the FIA got against him or Williams?

Shut up and move on.

(this does not change my opinion that the FIA decisions are as transparent as a lead brick and the organisation is lead by a facist gimp)
