2008 Canadian Grand Prix - Race 7/18

Also, due to health and safety concerns as they will still be setting up the circuit and it's facilities, spectators will be restricted to Farm on all three days. So no free roaming around for good vantage points then...

well thats rubbish :(

Those people would have complained anyway, their Coronation Street omnibus was probably cut short of something lame.
I wonder how many people complained at Alonso's little outburst? :D

Edit: Also, I don't think they were racing in the pit-lane really, they were side-by-side, so what?
It's all very well saying that one of the drivers should have slowed down and slotted in but what's to say they wouldn't lose positions doing that, or cause more accidents?

I'm sure if they had went out on track and swapped positions the stewards would have investigated and one of them would be in the pits for a drive through.

If it was me, I would have Brundle on his hands and knees begging for forgiveness from all the ****** around the world. :D

I dont understand what the fuss is.
All he said was *****. Even my mate said that when the camera panned onto the hairpin.

The funniest part of the GP for me was Ted Kravitzs voice when the Messiah "retired". Sounded like he was at a funeral.

Damn right too. I hope he has the decency to make a public apology.

Top Gear gets way more than 7 complaints in pretty much EACH episode. Do you really think ITV are going to give two hoots about a couple people that picked up on a presenters slip of the tongue? :p

Agreed. And they completely overreacted as well when it happened. Like "oh know!!!" and them all pretty much tripping over themselves to butt in to commentate on the same thing.

He certainly didn't quite give it the same effort over the finish line that Hamilton had on his maiden win :p

Not that im stinging up for Ted Kravitz but he was stood in the McClaren garage at the time, and said something about Lewis being right in front of him. I took it to mean that he was talking quietly because of where he was stood, not because he was gutted. As in he didnt want any irate McClaren mechanics jumping on his head.
Just my twopenceworth.

LOL that was funny. I think he was scared of getting told off by the folks at McLaren. They wouldve had no right though, as F1 relies on media coverage and the media have every right to be intrusive and to report on what has gone on in the race and what the driver is upto in the garage after he has retired.

Kubica? Did you see when Heidfeld moved over to let him past? Not wanting to start a conspiracy or anything :p

Nothing wrong with that. Kubica is their No.1 driver and have every right to ask their No.2 to move over to ensure they take the lead in the WDC. Its been done many many times over the years. Of course, if McLaren did it, then there would be serious implications as it might mean Ferrari missing out on a title (or 2), hence the FIA (Ferrari International Assitance) would be obliged to intervene.

Coulthard moved over to let Hakkinen through (both Mclarens) on the last lap of the Australian Grand Prix in 1998.

This is a bit of fatheads itv column
Ron Dennis confirmed to me that the team told Lewis to watch out for the pit lane exit light being red, but his mind was on the fact that a slow stop had meant both Raikkonen and Kubica had got in front of him and he was set to rejoin third.

He was focused on the flow of cars moving towards the exit and didn’t see that Kimi had stopped. He missed Kubica by inches, but – luckily for him – hit his main title rival, who could not score any points as a result.

For this he has been given a 10-place grid relegation at the next race, as has Nico Rosberg.

This is interesting in light of Raikkonen’s collision with Adrian Sutil in Monaco, which cost the German five points, but did not attract a 10-place grid drop for Kimi here in Canada… Figure that one out.

Just admit it fathead your son messed up. If the roles were reversed he would be screaming race ban for Kimi. ****.

10yrs ago the FIA seemed to be making decisions to ensure MS/Ferrari didnt dominate. One of the most notable changes were in qualifying, which they felt MS was too dominant in. Unfortunately, the changes they made allowed MS to dominate qualifying, even more.

This bias changed I think from last year when the FIA did everything in their power to ensure McLaren didnt when any title. It seems that 2yrs (2005/6) without a Ferrari title was about as much as the FIA could take.
