lag in the stream is nothing to do with a GPU


you did update the bios right?

not the stream in game. Its worse when its say a built up area and the computer has more to do.

streaming is very CPU intensive, you said your seeing 100% on the CPU when streaming...
this is why i said for your use case i would grab a 14700k or 7800x3d

streamer's run a second system.
my buddys son as a
11700k / 4070 and
9600k / 2070

the latter is the capture system

yer it is only running at 8x not full 16x... interesting

According to that it’s running at x8, 3.0. Not 16x 4.0. Do you have other PCIE cards installed? Have you checked the BIOS lane speed?

no other cards in the motherboard, ive not checked the lane speed. I dont know a great deal about computers im learning as i go.

Oof, Nvidia have a long history of driver-related issues. I'd be inclined to sell it and buy a Radeon.

Fair enough. In windows click start, type cmd and run as admin. Type shutdown /r /fw
Hit enter. You’ll go into the BIOS. Try and find a bit that talks about chipset or PCIE and it may have a drop down that says x16 or x8 it could be set to auto. Try manually setting it to x16.

If the 4080 is the only PCIE card in use, then it should be x16. Do you have multiple NVME drives as they could reduce your bandwidth to x8 but then it would have on the 3090 too.

Bit of a headache but maybe try a re-install of windows.

This is what I can find the bios. I have to run it on the middle setting as nothing else loads and just returns me to bios.
The mother board is a rog hero maximus xiii if that means anything.

Sorry about this guys I'm just lost as I know this isn't running right.

If 8x is your only option in uefi then its probable that your mobo is fried unfortunately. Do you have any service nearby that could try cleaning the slot?
