8 Packs 4ghz 32m Challenge win full Haswell 4770K Bundle.

First run isn't going so well, can get post over 2400mhz on 1T, may have to try lower/tighter.

Edit: 8.27, moar work needed.

A 4GHz clock may not be hard (depending on hardware, but being in with a shot is what's probably stopping so many from entering. A FX-8350 defaults to 4GHz, but unless something has changed the AMD chips wont get close to a Haswell setup.

Yes, I agree with that. Its going to be chip dependent and 4Ghz isnt the same everywhere you go as such.

But just seemed it was that people were moaning about!

Down to 8m22s, may still have a little room on tras and trfc, CR 1T is out of the question just now.

Next up 100 base, 40x multi, 2133 multi try for CL8.

Straight off the bat by lowering my multi.

Will try again soon, but SandyBridge-E isn't going to win this. It'll be IvyBridge or Haswell.

Tried my system with just the kingston ram which posted ok up to 1666MHz with a 2520MHz NB and the results were identical. The imc on this phenom definitely doesn't like going much over 1600. I was getting "NOT CONVERGANT IN ROUND", which afaik, is a memory error. (even though my timings were well relaxed) I also figured out that the corsair ram doesn't like overclocking beyond 1600 because it's rated at 1.8V and the kingston is rated at 1.65V.

3930k will be beast for this. Tried on my 3820 but I couldn't hit my sweet spot in RAM timings/speed without sacrificing about 400 MHz CPU speed trying to navigate the blck on 100Mhz strap. My current setup I have a lower multi than 36. Damn, i get around 9 mins @ 4.4.

EDit: Would love this comp in an ivy-e set-up.

3770K or 4770K will win, or i'll eat my metaphorical hat.

Try settings in my post if your ram is up to it.

OK, I have got somewhere but there is more tweaking needed. Got it running just under 4.04Ghz and 2397 on the RAM now, made a few tweaks to the 2nds as well and i'm getting ~8 min 15 secs

edit: also want to add that the strap was set the "auto" and i bumped up the blck so i don't think it's enterable. The current RAM is 2420 and CPU is at 3.63 Ghz and multi x36. The only way i can get it to clock @ 4 is to bump up the blck and watch my bus speed go way above 100.xx

Here is a slightly better one I did yesterday

I can safely post now that I know I have no chance of winning.:D

Thats quicker then anyone else on X79 by the look of it, Kaap was leading with 8min 21seconds, get it posted up :)

Edit: Damnit Kaap :p That slightly lower CL & CR seems to be paving the way.
