8 Packs 4ghz 32m Challenge win full Haswell 4770K Bundle.

I haven't overclocked for years and years.
Hit 4ghz especially for you lol.

Can't be bothered to OC my memory but I am only joining to take part not to win

I was browsing the net as this ran so might be slower than I could get by a few ms but I'm not aiming to win so :P
(got winrar open running its benchmark so I could grab a screen cap showing the CPU's clock lol forgot to turn off the down clocking thing)

WOW I'm 36seconds faster than a 3770k? is that normal lol

Really? A stripped/lite version with SP3?

It wasn't a stripped version it was a new install of MSDN retail with SP3.
I was going to strip it down myself.

When I did the first SP runs it was obvious there was a problem as it ran slower than on W7.
Looking at task manager it wasn't maintaining 100% CPU on the core I had SP assigned to.

I will revisit it at some point, still have it installed on a separate disc.
Swapping over is quite easy.

Aaaaaand we have a Haswell :D

Go ahead and tweak the memory, and run it again without doing stuff in the background! You should crack 8 minutes easily enough. I want some fair competition for when mine shows up :p

Edit: nice one 1Deep! Perseverance has its rewards!

Thank you Sir :D

I think anyone with a half decent set of memory around 2400mhz or above should be able to get sub 8 minutes, just tune the sub timings.

Too true. With some of the gkill memory with tight timings and using the tweaks I gave, I reckon sub 7m 30secs should be doable with too much effort

that's a good score for ivy

heres mine, might have another go later to see if I can crack 8minutes,this is the closest I got last time

as I said I don't normally overclock and I can't be bothered to learn all the ins and outs of it all.
the only memory I have is this crappy kingston and some samsung green from my old am3 which probably wouldn't be worth overclocking

but if someone wants to post some fairly safe timings I might be tempted :P

looks good but tbh,a haswell pc will win this comp

Maybe... but that's still some damn good value RAM!

Less than half the price of the kit I just ordered, and only 200Mhz slower (and with tighter timings to boot). Of course nobody knows how much further it will clock - very few reviews of the TG kits out there...

edit - Nice one PCZ :) Seems like 8mins is the big-leagues standard for Ivy bridge... What memory kit are you using?
