8 Packs 4ghz 32m Challenge win full Haswell 4770K Bundle.

I had to recover mine the other day

for gigabyte z77 without a bios switch you have to hold down front panel pwr switch, then flick on the psu power switch and immediately turn it off,do that around two times then let go of front panel power switch and turn on at psu switch and press front panel power button once

then you should see a message saying recovering main bios with backup bios, once done reboot and update the bios again

bet your board still has a cmos jumper.

neat trick if it works though having to take the side of my case any time I mess up ocing stops me doing it.

unlike when I as younger and used to sit benching 3dmark all day long :D

Right, I tried that about 12 times. Down to one stick of RAM, nothing but the SSD and keyboard plugged in. Same thing.

Gave it one last go, removing the 24 pin as well, 13th time's the charm. Back up and running :D

Cheers for the help!

GSkill is back in, tuning seconds and thirds now, see if I can work around being stuck on 2T.

So far at: 2426mhz 10-12-12-21-88-2T

:D
I'll be going after Scotty in about 30 mins, just finishing watching Arrow.
I don't think we're going to catch Kaap though, he is a demi god (8pack is the god) at tuning his overclocks.

Yay for x58 :D

Interesting though, that's very similar to what I got at 7-8-8-21 1T. For some reason 8-8-8-21 1T was a few seconds faster.

I still have a lot to learn about overclocking :p

Nice score on your rig, it will take some beating.:)

I will give it a go again in a few days time when I am off work. If I get desperate I have a secret weapon, my i7 980 IMC can do nearly 2400hmz with a set of Dominator Platinums.:D

Something I noticed was using a BCLK of 143x28 was 8 seconds slower than using a BCLK of 201x20

I will also give my X58 quad a run on this but the memory in it is not good (Patriot Viper).

Nah i give up. Can't get my low lantency 1600 ram chips to boot past 1800 even with silly voltages so not worth trying.

Really must invest in so new memory sometime soon............

.

I thought that was a given? I was trying for 202 x 20. I would even consider going an even lower multi depending on how you multiples work out with the ram.

GSkill Ripjaws Z 10-12-12-21-88-2T, tuned seconds:

What dimms are you running scotty?

Kaap was running 103.5 base to get 2480+, my 'professional overclocking' motherboard doesn't let me enter a decimal base :o
