8 Packs 4ghz 32m Challenge win full Haswell 4770K Bundle.

Ah we are in the same boat then, my ripjaws are also 2133 c9. Just doing another run with fully tuned seconds, then try trfc at 74 & I'm done for the evening.

Edit: 74 trfc was a no go, brute forced 1T though, re running now

Getting closer to kaap, if only I had the means to get that extra ~50mhz on the memory:

superpimod_3.jpg

Edit: I brute forced 1T by setting dram voltage to 1.74v, System Agent to 1.25v & VTT I/O to 1.23v

All in all, a good day for GSkill :D

I'm quite surprised to see how large a gap there is between my phenom II and the piledriver cpus. I knew that IPC had fallen slightly but hadn't realised it was quite as big a gap as i can see here. Still a million miles from the next best though.

Going to have another look at this and see if i can squeeze a few more seconds off my time, as i have a few ideas that might work. It's a shame the phenom II doesn't seem to like ram speeds above 1700 as the kingston kit is supposed to overclock to 1866 quite well, probably the IMC on the phenom causing trouble.

had a quick play my memory is crap at stock 1.5 volts 800mhz at 10-10-10-25 and 8m24s is all ive managed so far havnt added any volts yet though

I got 8mins 14 secs at 4002 mhz, memory is partiot intel extreme 1866 and an i5 3570k.
I dont think i can improve much on 1866mhz memory so wont bother posting pics.
Everything was set to auto and XMP in bios for memory.

My memory doesn't seem to tune very well on the secondaries :(
2430Mhz 9-12-12-25-96 1T was only 0.3s quicker than what i had previously, all down to loose secondaries :( :(

Team Group XtreemLV 2133 CL9. They're cheap and do the job, might have to spend alittle longer than i thought finding out what it likes :D

You tried dropping tRFC down to 88 and tras down to 21?

System agent and VTT on auto? if so try manually set them, my auto voltages were around 1.04v. Volts were the key to getting the CR down for me.

1.2v for VTT
1.175v for VCCSA

Tried 10-12-12-21-96 1T That passed with loose secondaries, but lower than original score, tried to tighten secondaries to 4-96-9-5-24-5-4-8 (no idea what order your board is :D) would keep crashing till eventually i got in with 7-96-10-7-27-6-6-8.

I might follow your suit and brute force it with voltage, just go for 9-11-11-21-88 1T :D Got a day off Friday as well, so will play around then...still got about 10 graphics cards to bench for the Bot :(

Just be careful with vtt and vccsa, afaik over doing it is a quick way to destroy something :p

You have mail pgi :)

Replied

I don't know x79 but can't you guys do

10-11-11-19-1t? 88 trfc or maybe 84? just wondered

I can't do 10-11-11, anything lower then 10-12-12 won't post though I haven't tried that with brute force settings yet, I may be able to get tras below 21 though

I think I've hit a brick wall with regards to tweaking my ram, can't tighten any of the timings any more and increasing speed just results in instability even if I slacken the timings.

I'm loving this G Skill stuff though, overclocks like mad :D

theres a big gap between haswell and everything else to but not enough haswells on the board to really notice it.

if it's still just me check my score and how I didn't oc my ram, then check the guys around me they all oced a lot to get there
