8 Packs 4ghz 32m Challenge win full Haswell 4770K Bundle.

G.skill ram says it all. I had to sacrifice 8GB of my ram and dual channel to improve by 4 seconds. I've still got some thoughts to test out yet. I really want to break 16mins, but i think my ram is going to hinder my chances.

If you google "Super PI 32M 4ghz efficiency", you'll find it's been done before and you can find similar hardware and try to get similar results.

I've got my Corsair XMS3 1600 kit running at 2000mhz 10-10-10-22 1T without any errors, seems about as far as they will go even 1 more mhz and the pc wont even post lol

Sound like you've found the limit of your CPUs memory controller. Mine was similar - 1900Mhz was stable enough to run pi at 8-8-8-21, but 1910Mhz wouldn't load Windows, even at CAS11.

Was also an XMS 3 kit as well actually... try tightening up the timings at 2000Mhz.

This is not a serious entry but it does have curiosity value

X58 memory @2300mhz.:D

Back in the UK today. I will have another go at this tomorrow and post up a leaderboard on whats been done so far.

Great effort guys.

Having a quick look at another thread with this same idea - the Ivy Bridge scores got down as low as 07:43

Fastest Sandy Bridge score was 08:08.

Very interesting all this. I tried a run on my everyday setup of i5-3570k 3.9GHZ (1.09v) and Samsung green 10-10-10-21 1866MHz. Got about 8 min 30 super pi.

If I wanted to improve should I focus on increasing RAM speed or reducing the timings?

Updated Leaderboard, i've probably made some mistakes, 8Pack will check himself anyway was just posting for anyone that's curious where they currently stand.

Thanks for updating the Leader board
The RAM speed is incorrect for my submission, see below
Correct speed in RED.

LN2 Cooled BBSE, PSC or Hynix these days are the ones in with a shout. I used Hynix for the 32m World Record last week.

I have some new BBSE to try that I got from GSKILL as well as some more GSKILL Hynix. Am gonna try again tomorrow for sure.

How do we found out which memory has good IC's ?
I don't want to pay out for more Samsung or some single sided rubbish.

Nice list of DDR3 IC's here. Just my luck that my kingston modules probably use elpida BFSE which aren't known for being much cop. (although that thread suggests 7-8-7 @ 800mhz should be possible, i can't get them to budge from 9-9-9) I've got no idea about my old corsair dominators, can't seem to find anything about them anywhere.
