8700K OcUK Stock and Binned Processors

Intel have really ****** me off with this 8700K stunt. I was hoping to have a new pc by now, good job my 3820 is still holding up for the most part. As for my 780Ti......It's currently being propped up by a Fanta bottle so that it makes good contact with the PCIE slot lol.

The 8700K RRP is $54 more than the 7700K. $54 into pounds + VAT = £49 more than 7700K.

The 7700K was selling for ~£300 at best prior to the 8700K launch, more like ~£320. Therefore, I would expect £349 to £369 to be the normal price range of the 8700K.

Anything above £370 for a retail boxed is gouging imo.

Luckily I was able to get a retailed boxed for £356 on launch day - about 30 seconds before they bumped the price up by £100. That same retailer now has 50+ in stock at an astronomical price. Thanks for the launch day 8700K I guess, but I will never be using them again.
 
Any idea when the 5ghz 8700k will be back in stock as I ordered it yesterday just before it went out of stock but order was cancelled and refunded because of PayPal protection which shouldn't have been an issue as far as I'm aware as I've used it for large purchases elsewhere
 
Hi guys, I was thinking about doing a full upgrade to my system from a 3770 to a 8700K, would cost around £1000 for the CPU, Motherboard, Case, Cooling and ram. Would it be worth it? I also have a Vega 56, but struggle to get over 144 fps due to the 3770.

I paid £250 for my 6700k retail boxed brand new, it seem like most people think this 8700k is the same price as a normal 4 core 8 thread from intel but its not intel are making you pay extra for it so is it really a good deal in the end? depends if you need the extra power.. if you did great should have paid extra for a 5820k years ago. :)

Intel RRP is 360.00 for the i7 8700k ! The reason OC have bumped the price up is because they have been buying the stock from a stockist who has uped his price because he can! April / may 2018 this CPU will be down to the correct RRP price again because all the stockist are Over ordering big time , It can already be had for under 400.00 from lots of outlets with next day delivery.

I know one massive retailer has put in an order for over 5000 units for the i7 8700ks from a reddit user.... The only people who want them at the moment is hardcore gamers or people who are building new systems. once that is done the selling of this CPU will slow down a lot.

As much as the "enthusiast" in me would love a 5Ghz capable chip it sort of kills it for me knowing that once your retailer has gone down the binning road that it's pretty much guaranteed all the sweet CPU's have been snagged and pitched onto the market at a premium price and therefore any "normal" chip from that reseller is going to be a dog.

As of 11/11/17, the top 81% of tested 8700Ks were able to hit 5.0GHz or greater. (1.40V Vcore , -2 AVX Offset)
As of 11/11/17, the top 58% of tested 8700Ks were able to hit 5.1GHz or greater. (1.412V Vcore , -2 AVX Offset)
As of 11/11/17, the top 30% of tested 8700Ks were able to hit 5.2GHz or greater. (1.425V Vcore , -2 AVX Offset)
As of 11/11/17, the top 6% of tested 8700Ks were able to hit 5.3GHz or greater.( 1.437V Vcore , -2 AVX Offset)

^^^ LOL 1.4Vcore without delid impossible sure your an expert Southernorth. Delid is essential to reach high frequencys and with OCUK full warranty included with all delided CPU's.
