Air fryers

I've got a pork joint to do tomorrow, so will try it probe in + air fry for the first time.

I think chips are way over-hyped in the air fryer.
Yorkshire pudding works well as do most cuts of meat, chicken especially so.

Noob q...are all air fryers the same for temperatures? I see these recipe ideas...but can use them with any air fryer right?

Aka same as an oven?

I think you do things at the same temp as an oven but for a shorter time. That's my understanding anyway.

My Cosori will be here later so i've just chipped and seasoned some spuds and left them in the fridge ready for her maiden run this evening. Probably do some breaded chicken tenders too!

I followed this. I tried shortcut parts of it but the important part is the pre-drying dehydrate part and also making sure the tin foil is wrapped around the bottom to stop it drying from the bottom. The spices are to your taste.

do find the chips rather crap in the ninja but everything else i have tried have been awesome.

I find, unlike deep fry, you have to keep and eye on them and keep them moving.

Yesterday I did potatoes soaked in salt water for an hour and then dried and air fried twice and they came out with fluffy middles and crispy outsides.

Might be worth experimenting and trying different brands to try and find the perfect air fried chip.

roasties i did same as you pretty much and yes very nice.

have to admit have dug out the deep fat fryer for the chips as the kids know how to use that and cant get their head around the ninja.
chips in the DFF are very good i must admit.

Totally agree on deep fried vs air fried.

We got rid of ours years ago and use the wok if any shallow or deep frying is required now.

It's probably been asked many times already, but what's the current go to reasonably priced air fryer?

There's 3 of us, 2 adults and 1 almost adult teenager, and we'd like something really versatile if possible. Thanks in advance.

i dived in for the ninja foodi max pro at £299 seems good for what i have cooked in it, but i imagine there are cheaper alternatives out there.

It does look good on the outside, but is it tender on the inside? would like to see that joint sliced.

Are you quite sure you needed a £300 air fryer? seems like walter mitiness to me, apologise if I'm wrong of course, but that's nutz and defeats the purpose of Air Frying and economy cooking ... unless you genuinely are a millionaire with money to burn of course?

Oh Wow and I thought my £30 ASDA air fryer seemed good value

she looks good though and cooks very very well

I did this yesterday on air fry + an inserted probe that can allow for pink pork.

The outside was crispy as seen, but the inside was juicy and very tender.
