Air fryers

I did this yesterday on air fry + an inserted probe that can allow for pink pork.

The outside was crispy as seen, but the inside was juicy and very tender.

oh yes done a pork joint the other day too i was surprised just how well it turned out and the crackling.
that looks lovely.

done a beef joint the other day too with the probe and perfect.
must start taking pictures but i am just enjoying myself too much.

Mine comes with the Ninja Foodi Max Health Grill.

I've heard good things of the Meater.

i still use one of these and its pretty much bang on around 4 degrees less.

I've got an old one from my fruit QC days. Probably out a little though.

Ive done two lots of chips in the airfryer and ive not been hugely bowled away up to press.

Process has been to chip them by hand, leave to soak in some cold water for 15 mins or so, empty and dry, throw into a bowl, season and add a touch of oil to get them coated. Then into the airfryer on their standard chip setting which is 195 for 25mins iirc. They are cooked, brown and goldeny on the outside and soft in the middle but lacking any real proper crunch on the outside, its like they have formed a weird sort of skin on the outside which I'm not sure if it is down to the spud used (I thought Maris Pipers were supposed to be good for this kinda thing). The basket hasn't been overloaded too.

Anyone any tips? Next stop is trying over chips straight in them.

Ate air fryers more economical to use in relation to an ordinary oven?

For me it is.

My ovens take 10-12 minutes to reach temp on fan assist and around 12-14 on non fan assist
My Ninja takes 1-3 minutes to reach temp and being smaller cooks food much quicker than the fan oven and uses a lot less power.

Found the key to get em crunchy is dash of olive oil and then coat them in seasoning (been using the scwartz jars) and make sure to shake half way, tried all that soaking drying etc just seems waste of time and doesnt make a difference personally, cut em then staight in basket and cook .
I cook them on airfryer mode at 200 for ~20 (ninja af400) and been using tesco finest all rounder spuds
