Airsoft ??

Any help for a newbie?

I have the boots, camo gear and glasses, just need to get a mask probably a tigris for now.
I'm going to a meet next Sunday, £40 for the gun and 4k bb's but is there anything I should know?

I'm ex military so know the obvious.

What are the benefits of ukara membership, bar the black weapons and entry to member only sites.

So UKARA just means airsoft retailers will sell you a gun without it being two-tone, no other benefits.

If you've got glasses then I'd just recommend a half mesh face mask to go with so you don't get shot in the mouth -

something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/QMFIVE-Tac...522011287&sr=8-8&keywords=half+mesh+face+mask

Youve got the basics so just have fun! First time doing it is awesome.

Get some gloves, getting shot in the hands and fingernails stings like a doggy.

I would also advise something for your head, getting shot there and in your ears kinda hurts too.

Some people like that sort of thing, so up too you. lol

When you say glasses? Do they fully seal your eyes or are they normal glasses? If they just just normal, some sites won't allow you to play and in honestly, you want ones that fully seal your eyes since BB's can come from anywhere and can bounce around.

what's the most accurate, most powerful rifle for hitting a target up to 20m away? that costs less than £100? also has to be one that doesn't require a license of any kind, etc.

best place to get it second hand?

Well that sounds ominous. Most 'powerful/no license' comment suggests this ain't airsoft and you are actually after an air rifle or catapult?

I've never been to a site that allows people to play without wrap around eye protection - doesn't have to be full seal, though some are fussy about that, but definitely must have protection from all angles.

Second the gloves - one time I played someone was using some kind of heavy/coated BBs - got marched off site by the marshals pretty quick - got hit in the hand by one of them even with gloves on left a pretty nasty graze - without would have been a lot worse. Though most places are pretty hot on catching stuff like this it does unfortunately happen from time to time.

You may want to have a nosy in the air rifle thread for best advice, airsoft rifles and such wont be much use for vermin at best you'll just **** them off:D. You still in Scotland? If so, you arnt going to get anywhere with the no license thing... all air weapons now require a license, anything not covered by that are covered by FAC and UKARA laws.

As for used, try Gun Trader.

yeah i just want to hit them a few times. they will then get the message and go away. then if more turn up i'll make them move on again.

don't want dead bodies to pick up.

This is a stupid idea, do not shoot animals, especially with non-lethal force where the intention is to hurt them in the hopes they won't come back. This is animal cruelty and irresponsible which could lead to more restrictions put into place on airsoft weapons.

It's inhumane to shoot an animal and wound/injure it yes, hunters go to great lengths to ensure they kill any animals they shoot so they don't suffer.

i'm not talking about making it bleed or anything, just a thump to tell them to bugger off. a bit of a slap per say.

i'm not talking about shooting a wing off then leaving it to bleed out for 3 days.

My airsoft sniper rifle will put dents in the top of a tin can and draw blood if shot at bare skin, they seriously aren't suitable for scaring birds off
