Welcome to one of the few downfalls of the eclipse, it amplifies hard drive noise, it doesn't help that a raptor is louder than most hard drives as well.

(Try and imagine 6 hard drives  )

The best way to silence the raptor is to shove it in a caddy of some sorts, any one should do the trick. Imo ones with active cooling and a fancy display would go nicely with it. :)
Raptor's will be fine in your Eclipse.. ;)

I dont think I can make mine any more quieter than it is, as I am already like running with 5 HDD.

They are like hot cakes too! Luckilly enough there is a fan blowing down the front :D

think i'm being a bit thick here so laugh away,
i got the akasa cable tidy kit and it has these little square "cable clamps" things and i can't get the backing paper off anyway and if/when i manage to get that off how do you get a cable into them?

Not sure what type of clamps they are, can you post some pics, might help.. ;)

Just had a quick scan anyone got a pic of one of these with a 120.2 rad on the roof? and pics of them putting it there? The fastenings and that.

As i'm torn between this and the Lian Li V1000 at the moment.

Cheers

The only reason to consider an Eclipse is that you cannot afford a V1000, otherwise the V1000 is better in almost every respect. And if you want to put a 120.2 in the roof, buy the V1200 and that way it won't block the motherboard.

Er...no it isn't, v1000 is crap compared to eclipse for airflow, thermals, capacity, room to work with and features.
I would know my server is in one and its a ***** to fit a big psu with any HDD's.

I am currently in the process of finding the best way to bolt a second 120.2 to the roof, with the barbs in-between the psu and drive bays area. (First is on the back of the case)

Will post pics when it started/done.

here's my new one finished :D

cheers :)

this is my second eclipse, i was thinking maybe try something new, a lian-li or antec but i thought why try something different when i've already found something that works great, very happy i stuck with it :D

this one is even more silent than my last, 3x scythe s-flex 1600rpm fans with the cpu fan at 1500rpm and the two case fans at 1440rpm.

the e6600 stock idles at 28-32c and load at 46-52c depending on the app, TAT seems to stress it the most about 4c more than Orthos, i wonder what TAT is doing that Orthos is'nt?

i mounted the HD too low for the sata power length and it left two screw scars  i'll fix that with some model paint.

I got some screw scars on my mirage, I noticed in with the screws come some red washers so I used them the second time around (incase I changed them back again) - now I have changed them to a light brown washers which came with my zalman HSF, got about 20! lol.
